Ok Got it,

Everybody Agrees Sushi in Amsterdam? (seems right to me) and otherwise keep on towards Internet and spread some corporation goodness to the AI's (other than Mansa)?

I like trying to push Hammy above us to get out of WFYABTA with Wang if a trade opportunity arises.

And yes Oil + a few modern units need now to be scheduled in to keep the AI playing nice!

Glad you're still with us, Ralph! I saw on the news where Britain had a lot of flooding. Hope you're staying dry!

With SB being at the top of the leaderboard, do we want to be spreading the corps to him?

Sitting Bull worries me a bit as well as Mansu. I was working from the bottom up for corps.

I kept my eye on any possible trades with Wang but nothing doing.

A very quiet set of building and spreading with the hardest bit being trying to juggle health in cities....which is still ongoing.

Kick off with Joao getting some Mining Inc Goodness.

And founding Sid’s Sushi in Amsterdam to really leverage Wall Street.

We simultaneously start converting mines to windmills in Amsterdam, this is not complete yet as I preserved a couple for us to complete some builds there.

We hook up our oil, and always seems to be the case having to sacrifice a town to do it.

In time for Industrialisation to kick in

After that we went through Plastics to Radio

In the meantime Sid and Mining have been heavily spread in our Empire.

We have managed to get an Exec to Lincoln who unfortunately cant spread mining inc so needs a taxi ride somewhere else!!

We have execs on their way to Hammy and Wang

We picked up Joao’s cash to try and advance him

No demands but a couple of cancelled deals. In the last turn or so so time to look at rebalancing our Trade

Soon be time to help Lincoln and Jaoa again (gaining some cash along the way!)

Radio in 2 and we are researching at a good pace!!

Out of the loop till Tuesday as I am off to Prague for some czech beer!!

Mmmm, Czech pivo! Dobru dan to you Ralph.

All does seem to be going well. We can maybe try and get Wang out of WFYABTA to try trade for Artillery.

All seems to be going well.

I would recommend workshopping the towns in Rotterdam and letting it work the hill tiles that Amsterdam currently works once computers are in to build internet then apollo. Then I'd research superconductors. The internet will bring in arty, rocketry and eventually satellites. However, Mansa is teching well and we do need to hurry along on internet.

After feeling a little off colour for a couple of days I load up the save to find the Dutch also suffering from unhelathiness!!

I think we need to try to ressurrect some of the cancelled trades, Health wise we should look to get back the crabs from Hammy (Corn and Sugar will get these), We should also get Rice and Gold back from SB these will cost us (Deer, Incense and approx 16gpt) These will also help our corp benefits. We should also be wary we will soon lose the fur from SB once he gets Industrialism, maybe we should look to get Hit Musicals from MM to cover this??

Other than that seems a straight forward plod on through Radio onto Computers for Internet. This may come in by end of turnset. I assume we are looking to get Internet up asap thus out Ironworks city seems the place or Rotterdam as per Ungy's thoughts??

err forget Rotterdam.
I forgot we put IW in Kyoto.
So the same thought applies there--workshop the cottages as we really need to max out production there. We'll build Internet-Apollo there (can't start Apollo until the tech comes in from internet).

Seeing as how that city is built on copper, I'm guessing that Joao made Lincoln give it up after we spread Mining Inc to Portugal. Looks like we should have spread it to the vassal first before giving it to the master. Ain't hindsight just grand?

Can't say I'm real fond of the idea of paying out 16gpt ...

Played nine to even up the turn count.

Made the trade of corn and sugar to Hammy and got crabs and clams in return.
Radio in onto Computers.
Got a favourable event in Amsterdam then few turns later got a bad event in the same city (Not sure if they are linked....)

I decided to accept hoping he may change from SP to allow us to spread our corps there also gave a +5 boost to our diplo standing with him.

Computers in Internet (5 turns left) started and onto Superconducters for Labs (3 turns left)

Other than that spread a bit of corp around where poss, have a few hanging about waiting for necessary funds. Built a few units to further bolster defense and also built a few Jails and Sec Bureaus to bolster our espionage pts if needed in future.

On the last turn MM played a double joker, he completed both Apollo and UN. I voted for SB I wasnt sure which way. Checking after current diplo standings it appears that MM will get WK and Joao and SB Ham with Lincoln evens with both however there is only marginal differences at the moment so could swing either way in future. We should be wary of the converting to Enviromentalism resolution as this will add approx 100gpt to our corps pymnts.

OK- I think I'm up so I got it.
things look good
Plan to workshop towns at Kyoto to max production there.
We vote against enviro res if it comes up but don't defy.
drop research to 0 for a few turns building labs.
skip the jails for units--since we'll be building labs/spaceship better bulk up a bit here.

Looking good, Internet and laboratories will help things along. Should we head for Fusion or Genetics after this?

OK- here we go:

I swap out the jails for some more units, bring back the fogbusters from the NW. We have a bit more domestic corp spread to do.

IBT Sitting bull wins UN

I notice we've sent some corp execs to some out of the way foreign spots.
That's not worth it--basically the idea on foregn spread is give it to one good city, then the AI spreads it for you--it costs $ to spread it--let them pay

We sell steel to Joao and Lincoln for 270.

Superconductors in--genetics. Drop research to 0 for a few turns to build labs. We run at +1681g/turn We can use the health.

GS born in Amsterdam. If I remember correctly that is #6 but I'm not sure. I do nothing with him.

Sitting bull builds apollo.
1810--internet in we get the expected

Sitting Bull comes with a demand:

I decline. I've lost count but I thought we were around 9 or 10 on demands.

I spread mining a sushi to SB and Mansa. This late I'd just as soon have them build execs and spend % (and pay us).

UN res for US--we vote no but it succeeds.

1816 Internet brings in fission and robotics. I crash the game

Reload and get to the same point--somehow we get fission from the internet but look at the trade screen:

Joao got fission and gave it to Lincoln

1820 we are 2 turns from apollo and all is well. Genetics in-fiber optics.
Nobody is planning war.
Mansa will start one for a couple of techs--that might make things a little more interesting--especially given our variant. Or we could just coast to victory.

So we get a demand this set--anyone have a handle on our count?

I think we're up to 9 demands but I haven't really been keeping track very well

I think it should be a fairly straightforwards run to victory from here.

Just looking through the last few reports, I count the demands at 10. The recap that I came up with:

Demands: 10 (give in on 12th)
Wonders: 6
Great People: 6
Civics: 4 (only 2 remaining)

Although someone might want to check that I counted everything ...

We've got 4 turns left on Fiber Optics. Sitting Bull currently has Satellites, so we will get that one for free once someone else researches it. We can't research Composites until we have Satellites. That leaves Ecology and Fusion. Thus I'll probably go for Fusion next as its unlikely that any of our AI friends will be getting to that one anytime soon.

We've got 2 turns remaining on the Apollo program. I'm thinking of cash rushing some of the Laboratories being built. We could use some of those cities to begin building the Thrusters. Our IW city lacks a Laboratory, which could be built waiting for Fusion (and the expensive engines) to come in.

We have no Aluminum. Hammy doesn't like us well enough to trade us his spare one, even though he is currently pleased with us. Mansa is selling his spare Aluminum to SB. As Ungy noted, Mansa will declare on SB if we give him Superconductors and Fission. Those two share a common border, so it might be a bit more than a token phony war. Its still a risk, though, giving Mansa a tech that enables a space ship part. And even then, there is no guarantee that he will trade his aluminum to us ...

Unfortunately, I cannot look at the in-game log to see who else might have built Apollo already. I assume that Mansa already has ...

I'm not sure that getting mansu to declare on SB is a good idea for the price. Maybe offer Fission and see if some cash will help.

Hadn't noticed the lack of aluminum.
I think it's really only a couple of turns anyway.
We've got at minimum +150% production in our spaceship cities anyway so that's 250/350 or about 70% the speed on those parts--not counting the IW city.

If we start a war at 10 demands, we will very likely get dragged into it as we should get 2 demands to join. That would be more interesting but less certain to win. We can coast easily here.

Started off the set by trading away our only supply of uranium. Losing the uranium means that we won't be able to build nukes or Attack Submarines. I don't think either is that big of a deal for us, so ...

A survey of our cities was showing unhappy citizens and health concerns. Our IW city was starving! This trade gave us 3 extra happy faces, 2 health (w/ Grocer), some sushi and hammers. The extra gpt that Mansa threw in was pocket change, though.

Apollo was completed on turn 2 and I put our best cities to building spaceship parts. The other cities concentrated on factories and power. Except our HE city. I left Utrecht on troop duty since we are so low on the power graph. I built Mechanized Infantry as they give the biggest boost to the power demographics. I also left Maastrict, with its Dry Dock, building boats to counter any possible invasion force.

We completed Fiber Optics and Fusion during the set. We picked up Satellites for free. We have 1 turn remaining on Ecology. The last spaceship tech is Composites. Sitting Bull has it, but we may need to research it ourselves anyway. I spent most of our gold running 100% research.

I voted in favor of the UN resolution on curbing nuclear proliferation. The resolution came up twice, and I'm not sure why. Both times it carried unanimously. A random event wiped out a workshop in Kyoto, but it was rebuilt. I converted a few cottages to workshops, but I tried not to get too carried away. Although we're coming into the home stretch where production is much more important than research ...

From the shot above, you can see that the Stasis Chamber is the only part completed thus far. The Cockpit, Docking Bay, and 3 of the Thrusters are in the queue. Sitting Bull has been cranking out the parts during my set. I saw 4 different log messages flash, but the F8 screen doesn't reflect them. Not sure what's up with that ...

I'll close this report with a shot of our cities ...

and the save ...
