game succession depending on earthtype?
After many months I played another game in the Fantasy Realm - before that I always chose fractals or continents.
Well, on the latter ones I didn't feel any notable effects on the map. Sometimes there is that evil Lich, then there is some mana but nothing really special. Playing in the Fantasy Realm I'm almost overrun by barbarians, the AI of the other Civs seems to be much more aggressive (without changing the difficulty) and within 30 turns 2 Civs were already eradicated. Furthermore my Scouts get free techs in those tribal huts (something that almost NEVER happened on fractals or continents) and find totally new areas like pyramids and graveyards. The only thing I changed was to upgrade from 0.32 to 0.33 Is it just my imagination or is the Fantasy Realm really some kinda special playground FfH2 was meant to be played on?! I just ask because I don't like it that much - no sea, too much tundra and desert. |

I quite like Highlands myeslf. I go standard size, dense clustered peaks, large lakes, toroidal wrap (both x and y wrap).
As far as features go I've seen plenty of different types on all map scripts. Maybe the higher percentage of available land squares guarentees more of them I'm not sure.

I do map types depending on what civ to play. Archipelago with Lanun (great fun) Higlands with Khazad and creation on everything else since it owns.

If anything the mapscript FFH2 "is meant to be played on" whould be erebus. But it will still take some AI-work to handle. But its good fun regardless.
