Carrier edit help plz :)

ok where to start,
i went into the XML files and went to CIV4UnitInfos and found carrier.
i changed movement from 5 to 7 and i changed cargo from 3 fighters to ten but it didnt work,
i also wanted to add bombers so i added the line <SpecialCargo>SPECIALUNIT_FIGHTER</SpecialCargo> but i simply changed the word fighter to bomber

any ideas why none of these things worked.lol.

thanks again in advance

There is no SPECIALUNIT_BOMBER, you can look in CIV4SpecialUnitInfos.xml to see what SPECIALUNIT's already exist. I havn't tried it but you should be able to have you're carrier's transport bombers by setting the "SPECIAL" field in bomber to SPECIALUNIT_FIGHTER.

The other changes that you made should work, so I'm not sure what the problem is there.

You only need to change the BTS one's. But you shouldn't do it that way. You should never change the original game files.

A better way to do it would be to create you're own mod folder in the BTS "Mods" folder. Then copy the files that you want to change to that folder. then edit the copies. You need to use the following path in your mod folder to add the Civ4UnitInfos.xml XML file: Assets\XML\units\Civ4UnitInfos.xml.
Try looking at some other mods to get the idea.
