Automatic worker managment broken?

At first i thought it is working fine and relied on it but this made me rethink that:



As you can see food production is emphasized, and all colonists (except the guy learning a profession) are on auto-assign. Can someone enlighten me why the hell a expert fisherman is working a corn farm an a expert farmer is fishing while there is starvation?

For me this classifies as a bug, doesn´t it?

I have noticed that myself in a few of my games. I consider that a bug. What I do in those cases is mess with the AI by moving some people around randomly, retelling the AI to assign automatically, then manually assigning the workers that I want.

It's lame that I have to do that.

Yeah it's a bug. I always lock down my farmers/fishermen. It's usually those two who get mixed up. Also you can use the "emphasize" in the city screen to fix them.

Never do automated anything in game like this. It is never implemented correctly.
