I realize that these are parade uniforms, but those arm-length ski sticks still crack me up. At least the skis seem to be real. I wonder if they suck as much as the Finnish equivalents.

That actually crossed my mind after posting, but I dismissed the thought on the basis that they'd be too flimsy for military issue. Although this is a special unit, so maybe those sticks are of very good make.

Props to them if those actually work in the field and aren't a huge PITA.
 
Wow! Those bakers are impressive. BTW, are you sure that these are the sappers of the foreign legion?

I think it's them - they always have to march at the end of the 14th of July parades as they have their own pace.
