Post Rush Help
Hi all.
I am playing as Montezuma, in a huge fractal map, epic speed, noble difficulty. I have just succeeded rushing Charlemagne with jaguars, leaving the entire continent for myself. However, my continent and sury's is only separated by coast, so I cold try a naval invasion (although doing it galleys and triremes will be hard). Anyways I would like some advice on what to do next, and how I should settle my continent. I'd also like to know whats best to do with my capital, which has two corn (which will be irrigated upon civil service), two clam, and gold and gems which both popped out my early mines. Screen shots are attached, as well as the save, although I'm using an out of date version (3.13) of Civ. |

For dotmap help, it would be beneficial to zoom in a bit so we can distinguish between different tiles. I would just expand and not attack Sury. Build into the jungle (very strange how resourceless it is) for commerce cities and down into the peninsula for the good production and resources. You won't really have much tech trading ability till you meet the other continent(s). May want to beeline to compass to meet them for trade.

I don't even see what help you need. Youre at 70% science and still running a profit. I don't see the point of attacking the other continent yet, just settle the entire continent and worry about attacking later after you have a huge tech lead.
As for your capital, build settlers and workers with your huge food reserves. |

Actually, what really need is city placement help. I doubt my ability to settle cities in the right place, and the opportunity to settle an entire continent come very rarely. I just want to do it properly.

that neighbor will attack eventually. i say go with your gut- a trireme/galley invasion now while you can- at least as a defensive maneuver -to slow him down if your behind.
Think of where your palace switch will take place as the pivot for your placement. |
