Civ IV vs Civ BTS

Which is the toughest to play.

I played a lot of Civ IV then didnt play for a few years and have recently resumed with BTS.

BTS seems a bit harder to me, what do you guys think?

BtS is definitely harder, mostly thanks to a significant number of AI changes since vanilla.

One could argue there are fewer ways to exploit certain game mechanics in BtS as well.

BTS is more complex, therefore harder.

The AI gets less bonuses on high levels in BTS, but will tend to build more units. Optimal strategy varies a bit.

The transition took me a week or so, the difference didn't seem all that great.

BTS is tougher, and therefor more fun to play. Anyway that's my $0.02.

The Espionage concept can make the game far more harder to maintain than in Vainilla... Lots of new numbers to take care now.

So, IMHO, BTS is harder

The Corporation aspect makes things more difficult for me.I race to get rid of religion in my games and Corporations seem to be late game religion. And they're so darned expensive!

I love the new espionage though. That more than makes up for any complaints I might have.
