Science speed slow?
Is there a reason why technologies take longer to finish in compare with normal BTS 3.17?
I personally have to adjust my playstyle completely to play GEM. Which isn't too bad if it didn't annoy me. At epic speed I allready built every building I could and rexed as much as I would like too, but don't want to rex more coz that would slow my techrate even more. So all that's left is too pump out warriors(with a bit of luck archers or axes) at an crazy rate which I simply have to delete after completion since I don't want/need 20 warriors unless I want to go out and start razing other civs, since capturing will only crash my economy and I don't want that coz teching is allready soooo slow. All this happens while as far i've noticed there still as many turns. I also see the AI civs struggle with dozens of warriors and slower techpace. I think this was intentionally implented, but is there a way to play with the old techpace? Don't want to be whiny since I really appreciate the work you put into this mod. Would be my dream mod, if techrate was a bit faster. (and if my pc could handle it :P ) |

kwibuss, are you playing the plain map or the scenarios?
If playing the plain map, I think you might be correct. The current setting for GEM is favoring the scenarios, since scenarios usually needs to pump out tons of units for the immediate wars and if tech rate is not slowed, the wars would not be finish before getting on to the next era. But like what Adhesive said, you can easily choose 'quick' or 'normal' games for a quicker game. Btw, these editing are in XML. I am not good at dll editing either

Yeh it's for the plain map.
I understand it's possible to play at quicker speeds, but somehow I have a problem with getting techs i normally get at 1AD in 1000AD instead I'm don't know how to edit these kind of things so I'll just try quicker speeds and turn of time victory and ignore the calendar
