Taming the Dragon
So in a hotseat game I'm playing with my cousin, Acheron spawned on the coast of another continent, very nearby. He sat there mostly unmolested for a very long time, killing the foolish AIs who dared to attack him.
Rather than slaying the dragon, we came up with the bright idea of taming him. Spent several Levels on giving Mardero all the Command Promotions. We went in, and with a bit of luck (and reloading) we finally captured him. Only to find out, that acheron retains the "held" promotion, making him immobile permanantly. He's now still stuck outside that city to this day. WHYYYYYY ![]() Can we please have the held promotion removed if he comes under non-barbarian control ? It was a huge disappointment to capture a dragon and be able to do nothing with him

maybe it only works if you use subdue beast to do it, since that's how everyone else captures acheron? |

You are definitely using 0.40 because before 0.40, Acheron had 0 move instead of 3 move + held.

Actually thinking on it I'm not positive about that.
Go to C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\Mods. Look at the name of your FfH folder. If it has no number in it, it's 0.40. |

I have Fall From Heaven 2, and FfH Age of Ice
so just not using the right patch, I'm guessing. I can't update right now anyways, due to savegame breakage. The above mentioned game is still ongoing and I want to finish it first. |

Considering he should lose the Held promotion, I don't think anyone will call you a cheater if you use the worldbuilder to remove it from him.

Agreed wholeheartedly.
If only you could use the worldbuilder in multiplayer games. |

Acheron looses Held when he is killed, so any form of capture (except domination, to which he is immune anyway) should make him loose the promo.
If I recall there used to be a game option that supposedly allowed you to use worldbuilder in multiplayer games. However, I found that in Hotseat games at least it never really worked. The menu would have worldbuilder on the menu, but selecting it wouldn't do anything. I'm about 80% sure this was a hidden option in the main game, but it might have been in a modmod (Snarko's maybe?)

No offense WarKirby, but maybe you should be more up to date patch- and feature-wise to be taken more seriously with all your complaints and suggestions around
and to reduce the chance that you just cause confusion about something that was already fixed lately. |

in one of my games I tamed Acheron with a Beatmaster and he wasn't held anymore, after been tamed...Update to some of the latest patch, it works (and I must say, it's a pleasure to wander around "roaring" away your enemies with your tender-many-feet-tall-pet!)

If Acheron has the "held" promotion, you must be playing with the 0.40 version. There was a bug like what you say, but the newest patch has already fixed it.
