SimCity 4 Olympic Scenario Suggestion

Basically, I want there to be a scenario where you have to prepare the olympics. There should be no ability to pause but you can change speeds, and you start with a lot of money. Objectives:

Build an international airport.

Build a subway.

Build a bus system.

Build highways and railways leaving the city.

Replace aging nuclear plants with solar ones.

Reduce Crime, Fire Hazard and Pollution by a lot.

Destroy Buisness deals.

Do park and ride near houses.

Passenger/Car Port

TV Studio

Build Olympic Village

Build Olympic Venes, which are:

Track and Field Athletics Stadium.
Aquatic Centre, for diving, swimming, synchronised swimming, and water polo.
Track cycling and BMX racing track.
Hockey Center.
Basketball Arena
Handball Arena
Arena for boxing, fencing, judo, table tennis, taekwondo, weightlifting, and wrestling.
Arena for artistic gymnastics, trampolining, and the basketball finals.
Arena for rhythmic gymnastics and badminton.
Arena for equestrianism.
Barracks, for shooting and archery?
Soccer Stadum
Tennis Courts.
Park for road cycling
Arena for beach volleyball, and beaches for the sand.
Park for Triathlon.
Volleyball arena.
River for Canoe and Kayak flatwater.
Park for Mountain biking
Marina for Sailing.
Baseball/Softball arena

Why do you need to destroy business deals? In reality it was these who provided the needed cash for cities to build these Olympic venues.

On another note, my city already has everything needed, but the neccessary buildings.

Safest city with mostly graffiti and purse snatching. (and the occasional streaker)
No fire threats for hundreds of years.
Best Healthcare in region, with average age of 95.

My city exceeds 550,000 people.

addition: Shouldn't you build Park and ride near businesses... what athletes will go to a persons home? Plus Mass transit towards nieghborhoods rarely reach crowded streets making drop offs at signs easier. Park and ride helps eliminate needs for cars to enter the downtown area or busy commercial/industrial areas where there tends to be a lot of traffic. That is the approach I use with my city and traffic is smooth all across the map. Just an idea.

Why to eliminate business deals.
Casino = Distractor for Athletes
Toxic Waste Dump = Hinders athletes a LOT.
Federal Prison = Maybe acceptible
Military Base = (See above).
Missile range = Missiles could misfire...

Park and ride near houses for the spectators.

A casino is hardly going to distract the athletes. I'm pretty sure there are lots of cities with a casino in them that have hosted the Olympics, the upcoming 2010 games in Vancouver, there are a few casinos in that area.

Toxic waste dump would have to go if is on your land but I don't think it will hinder athletes, just your bid for the Olympics.

Military base is fine.

Federal prison, those should be on the corner of your map anyways

And most local people don't attend the Olympics. It would be better to increase transportation to hotels (if hotels are a building type).

Salt Lake City hosted the Olympics and they had no casinoes... and the athletes said it was one of the best olympics they participated in.

Though I am sure it was more the people than what the city offered.

And I doubt I will see Las Vegas get a bid, so maybe 1 casino is fine but not dozens?

Every country/state/city that hosted the olympics has a prison in it... though granted not all cities had one in the city but all had one within 50 miles from it.

Toxic dumps would have to go... I agree on this, for one it is an eyesore and for another not even I would play near a dump.

A Military base.... look at prison.

Park and Ride... just place some near the Olympic venues (provided it is not in a residential area) and place park and rides 10 or 15 blocks away from it. (in my city, they wouldn't use it, the subway gets you closer and the entrance/exit takes only a little space.)


Just the same, my city banned gambling and I never invited a military base in my largest cities, just smaller ones. Missle ranges were forbiddened in my region along with Toxic dumps.

I think if the Olympics were looking for a host, my city would be on the top of their list.
