ok, here goes.

Very good news and very very bad news.

Very good news
Free combat 1 for all cannons!

Very very bad news? HC teched Railroad in the space of about 4 turns.

Moderately good news?
Free beakers

Turn 226 Makes some civics changes
Nationhood, Slavery and Theocracy, begin drafting rifles

Turn 227
Draft

Turn 228
Draft

Turn 229
Draft

Turn 230
Draft

Turn 231
Steel complete, last minute riflemen whips, set tech to bio, switch from nationalism to vassalage since we have enough drafted rifles, want whipped cannons now

Turn 232
Whip

Turn 233
Whip

Turn 234
Whip

Turn 235
Whip

Turn 236
Whip

Turn 237
Whip

Turn 238
Our army (lots more cannons on the way, should be enough but will leave it the next person to decide

I've also shown HC's hammer. Hold our army back for 1 turn after war dec, HC will move his troops into our land (which I have roaded) allowing us to attack him directly and wipe out his entire army in the first turn of war (will also give us a GG to create a proper medic unit).

I would declare war this turn, wipe out HC's army while the rest of our cannons arrive, heal up and then move out and start capping cities. Whip out rifles/cannons from all newly captured cities.

Also, here's a look at CHarlys navy, he's been in WHEOOHRN since my turnset began

I've kept accumulating EP on Hanny, although we can steal a tech from him if we want (nothing there that would have helped the buildup phase though)
Can steal Mil Tradition/Science and whip out a couple of grendiers if we want though.

Got it. That's an impressive build up! We can also steal Steam Power (one step closer of infantries) to Hannibal.

As for the war path: after the initial battle, we could go Andahuylas -> Huamanga -> Machu Picchu -> Cuzco... what do you think?

I'm think so long as HC sends his SoD at us right away for us to kill, we only need to divert a small force towards Andhuylas, perhaps just block it in and use the late arriving cannons to complete the capture, that gets us to HC's cores cities with the main stack 2-3 turns earlier.
It might be worth trading for MilSci/Trad now from wang kon, we'll get two GG's pretty quickly, one can go towards a medic and one can go towards a MilAcad in our capital (and we can possibly put another academy in our globe theater city, that will dramatically increase the overflow into the next unit each turn we whip it.

I didn't do this in my turnset because they weren't relevant to the buildup and probably require a bit more discussion than we had.

I do like the idea of stealing steampower and swapping techs from Bio to AL for infantries. After that we can probably head towards artillary if our tech holds out, otherwise finish off bio so we can run more scientists.

Lurker's comment:

Looking really interesting now guys. That's the kind of turnset I expect, PaulisKhan Draft like mad and whip away the

Looks like a really impressive army. I'm just not sure they'll do that good against MGs... My advice: Strike ASAP, no need to wait for any cannons on the way. The cannon's main job will be bombarding with the occasional suicide (fewer suicides when lots of MGs are present OFC) mission. If you manage to take down HC you can go after Wang or stalin.

Oh and make sure you won't be dogpiled, if necessary beg 10g from every non-incan civ

Make sure you don't have stray boats in the seas, it's not funny to fight destroyers with frigates

Good Luck

Good to see you around Mysty . Actually, I think CR cannons will do better than rifles against machine guns in cities... I guess we'll need a crap load of them

Well, now you see me, but I've been seeing YOU all along of course

What I mean, cannons don't hurt MGs with collateral damage - and you usually attack with siege just for that reason. I don't think cannons or rifles will get decent odds against MGs anyway - expect to sacrifice 1 unit per MG if you're unlucky (that's my gut-feeling speaking) and rifles are easier accessible via the whip and easily replaced. With your cannons you can at least make sure you aren't bothered by cultural defences.
I think (from what I see and read in reports) HC will have 1-2 MGs in his more important cities, maybe more if you wait longer. So I'd hurt the MGs with rifles and use the cannons (with CR likely better odds than rifles) to retreat while bombing the other defenders to dust with collateral damage.

Oh, and you DO have a crapload of units from what I see Now there's just one thing: being fast.

The Burger King seems to be locked in perpetual preparation mode. He's building units for the preparation but cannot actually attack, and if he does not get Astronomy he will continue building units and crash his economy.

Cannons can't inflict collateral on MG, but thankfully the AI doesn't stockpile MG that much. The most I've seen in a city is 3. And since they're generally not grenadier upgrades, they don't come with CG. So just slam some cannons in and hope for the best. At least the other units will be collateraled to death. We're going to have to keep on whipping and drafting probably. As this is gonna be a war of attrition (kinda).

As for HRE, let's just keep an eye on his navy. Once they start moving out, we can worry about what to do. And yes, I'd steal steam power. Levee = good. Especially since we have minimal hammers coming in.

Good points Shyuhe... I'll keep an eye on that HRE fleet...
Sum up: Steal steam power, start on AL, attack HC, kill his stack, start grabbing the cities (see post 223 perhaps with the exception of the first one which can be taken by reinforcements).

Any other points before I play (sometimes tonight)?

Cheers,
Ras

The plan is sound, just a question of whether we're too far behind in tech. We'll see how much of the stack survives to reach HC's capital.
No reflection on you if he techs AL in the meantime and grinds it to dust.

I don't get what you mean here... bloody english! Do you mean that if he reachs AL before us we are toast? anyway, if something catastrophic happens, I will obviously stop to discuss...

I think HC is 1 tech away from having Infantry, if he techs that next he will pulverise our stack as we move it around in his territory and we will lose so many troops trying to capture cties that we will be done.

Our best hope is probably to take 5-6 of his good cities quickly and hope he is willing to capitulate.
I might be being overly pessimistic, but we'll see =D

OK, I got that... thing is I don't see better plan, as they aren't likely to be less powerfull in the future if we don't do something. So I will do that and see where we stand, if he destroyed our stack, so be it!
Save in the next two hours

Cheers

I played half my turnset in three hours ... I guess I will finish tomorrow...
I leave the save, if anyone can comment in the meantime, that would be great for several reasons:

Staline stabbed us at the dow... but no troubles yet (just dancing some frigates). I had begged 10 gold from Hanni so no biggies there.
But HC is teching AL... he will be there in 7 turns in the current save (I played 5 turns). Fortunaly, he doesn't have rifling yet, but he will trade for it for sure...
Only one MGs encountered so far, 2 cities grabbed, Steam Power stolen, and 2 GGs born .
Most important thing: HC built Mining Corp in Cuzco!!! That could help us if we can reach the city before he upgrades everything... to sum up, we have 7 turns to grab machu picchu and cuzco...

Anyway, will finish and report in details tomorrow...

Cheers,
Raskolnikov

3am is all part of being a true CivFanatic!

Impressed by the turnset and that you're making good progress =P
I was worried that HC would have too many MG's and we'd get bogged down.
