Cursor problems

I have this weird issue with my cursor when playing civ4.
There is a box around the cursor, wich is transparent with the desktop, when i play civ4.
I already read/tried those things in some of the other cursor flickering problem threads, like hardware acceleration/tab.
Help appreciated
Thanks.

Welcome to CFC

Do you have any custom mouse options turned on (mouse tracks or the like)?

try a newer graphics card driver:

(no. 3 in that list).

no there is not - you'll need to open the mouse utility in windows (control panel) to do so...
as for the driver:
your laptop is a lenovo laptop - so look there. It what kind of thinkpad is it? if you tell me I could look for new drivers as well - right now the info I have is that it is custom build - but I have no idea which thinkpad no it is based on

lenovo is not a good site - you need to know the number (Rxxxx) in order to find your laptop there - but here is the site:
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/si...&validate=true

I found it after much fiddling with the lenovo website
yours is a R61 and there is the following page for driver downloads:

http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/si...GR-67856#video

take the driver under the header:
Intel (940GML, 945GM, GL960, GM965)

@luckyduckman: please post your dxdiag results file as well

Bump
Sorry for the long wait
It didn't work.
I also noticed this problem with other computer games like Guild Wars and World of Warcraft when i play them in Fullscreen.
I forgot to mention, the mouse flickering is only on my Phillips 220TW screen, wich is connected to my laptop

Also, when i try to connect to the internet to create an account with the civ4 client, i fill in information, and it pretends like working in like 0,5 seconds, and it does nothing.
Same happens for login.
EDIT:: I solved this, just used create account to login
