Civ4 BTS Install new civ in the main game?

Is there a way to install new civs into the regular game? Without loading a mod?
If I replace the original code with the modified code, will that do the trick?

The reason I ask is because I was thinking it would be nice to have several of the new civs as AIs, plus use one myself.

Thanks in advance wise ones.

1. Yes, that'll do the trick, but if you want to change it it's a lot harder, so back up your original files (copy them to a separate foler so you can change back if you want to)

2. This is in the wrong forum. Questions should be in the main Creation and Customization forum .

1) Thanks! That is cool to know. I was thinking that. I have it backed up on the original discs if I totally blow it. I will only add a civilization here and there...

2) Sorry, feel free to move it. Noobs...

1. I mean on your hard drive.

2. Only mods can move it, but it doesn't matter. Noobs do it often; it's just a little nuisance, nothing to be ashamed of

You can also put it in your custom assets folder. It will load automatcally and it's not a "mod"

OK, I tried this, I guess I am not putting it in the right place.

Can you tell me precisely where to put it and how to name the folder it goes in?

Anyone? I tried this and it didn't work. Maybe I am doing something wrong?
I guess its not too hard to load the Mod that can contain ALL the new civs I want in it, but if I can just cut right to the chase, I would love to know how.

Can someone please provide the specifics?

Or you can put it in your assets folder too. The path is assets/modules/custom civilizations/Japan.

Loads much faster this way too.

Like this
C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\Assets\Modules\Custom Civilizations\Aborigines

I'd use the custom assets folder, but i cant seem to get the civs to load from there. Putting them into the assets folder works great, however.

If someone could list a working path structure for custom assets, however, i'd be grateful.
