EDIT: If you send me ideas for projects to be built, please tell me which is the effect you wish the project to have. If you don't say what you want the project to do, then I can't know what the cost will be and it won't be added to the stats.

Not bad, guys. Save for the three strikers (Marsi, Sessentia and the Holy Arcadian Empire), I have all the orders. I'll start writing the updates for Africa and North America, and will wait for the three remaining nations to send the orders before updating Asia and Europe. I'll see you later (and keep posting stories if possible!)

You are lucky that I haven't started with Europe yet (I have Africa and N America already, and am working with Asia), otherwise I might have to reject your orders. However, considering that we have hardly started this game, then there is no problem, provided that orders are sent soon.

Update 2: Growing up in the wilderlands (100 AB)
Africa
The nature of humankind starts to unravel in North Africa. It is in here that the natural curiosity every human has for the unknown and mysterious is starting to be satiated thanks to the hard work of a few that have taken upon themselves to investigate those things, to make out what they mean, to finally solve those problems and present the solutions to their compatriots so that they may benefit from those advancements. While the people in the centre of the zone have discovered a way to make fire much faster than the ancient one, through the use of stones that produce sparks upon being smashed, the people of Eskimogypt have instead started the practice of exchanging products, thus creating the first foundations of a specialized society where each person will only have to work on one thing and get the rest of the necessary things from other people. It's also the Eskimogyptians that do more things, as they have already started to explore along the Nile River, on whose banks they live, and they have even met other nation out of their original continent, the nation of Iudea. Berberia: Expands, works on Migrating Herds (5/8), +1% Imshal Carania: Expands, discovers Fire (+1 EC), works on Stables (2/14), +1% Molok Eskimogypt: expands, discovers Bartering (+1 EC), investigates Fire (3/5), +2% Trianglism, meets Iudea Tripolitania: expands, discovers Fire (+1 EC), starts House of Weapons (+1 Culture/turn) (2/6), +1% Elemental Spirits Asia In this the most populated continent of the world, advancement comes easily to many, even though there are several that either prefer to concentrate in working on improving their lands so that people may live better or altogether hoarding all resources for themselves, thus making their survival as a nation far more difficult than for the others. While in the Middle East the horse-riding Mitanni meet the people of Iudea (who have also met African Eskimogypt) and go south in an attempt to meet the Empire, the Far East sees how the nation of Ming meets Abalonia and many others expand the size of the lands they control. Several of these nations discover the unknown power behind economic transactions, while others have managed to develop better ways to control fire, which gives them the chance to use it more often and not to depend so much on having to keep the fire on, with the logical consequence of a saving of material resources (namely wood) and giving people more time to do other things, which will have a strong impact in the ability of society to support itself. Abalonia: expands, discovers Bartering (+1 EC), +1% The Holy Cow, meets Ming Empire: expands, discovers Ceremonial Burial (+5% Ancestor Worship), starts Holy Temple of Hestath (+1% Ancestor Worship/turn, +1 Culture/turn), +6% Ancestor Worship Feicui Empire: expands, discovers Fire (+1 EC), +3% Yu Qiong Iudea: expands, discovers Fire (+1 EC), investigates Bartering (1/5), +1% The Eye That All Sees, meets Eskimogypt and Mitanni Khambat: expands, discovers Bartering (+1 EC), investigates Fire (1/5), works on Agricultural Project (2/8), +4% Khambian Ming: expands, investigates Fire (2/5), works on Great Rice Fields (6/8), +1% The Path, meets Abalonia Mitanni: expands, works on Great Ranches (6/16), +2% Cavalloism, meets Iudea The Holy Arcadian Empire: chills out (Money banked, +1 strike) The Yazidi Order: expands, discovers Ceremonial Burial (+5% Yazida), investigates Fire (1/5), +5% Yazida Yang: expands, discovers Bartering (+1 EC), works on Terraces (2/8), +1% Blak'n'vuait Europe In Europe, people are still mostly isolated from other nations, due to the fact that there are few of them in this zone and because of the distance among the nations. However, this doesn't mean that contact doesn't happen: in the Iberian Peninsula, Arago has expanded south and met the Nation of Aruhn in the plains between the two main west-bound rivers, and there might be problems due to the different ideologies between both nations, as in both of them the ruling class is formed by the priests and monks of the official religions of Akabarala (Arago's religion) and Ytrism (Aruhn's religion), which might provoke sparks in the near future. Meanwhile, the nations of Europe have already started to discover or develop several things that will be important for them. Mostly, it's the fast way to make fire that has become known to the people, although in Attica there has been already several investigations regarding the possibility of taking resources from the sea, building special wooden ships that will be able to cross into the seas and allow people to get fishes from points far from the coast, as well as transport people short distances across the sea. Arago: expands, discovers Ceremonial Burial (+5% Akabarala), investigates Bartering (1/5), +2% Akabarala, meets Nation of Aruhn Attica: expands, discovers Fire (+1 EC), investigates Fishing (3/5), +1% Attian Polytheism City-State of Marsi: chills out (Money banked, +1 Strike) Nation of Aruhn: expands, discovers Fire (+1 EC), +7% Ytrism, meets Arago Sessentia: expands, discovers Fire (+1 EC), +1% Lathanism (-1 Strike) North America At the other side of the ocean, we see how many other nations discover several things that will help them grow up in the metaphorical sense as they slowly expand their dominions and they also start to know each other. The first frictions over the future borders among the nations are started to be felt in the islands of the Caribbean Sea and the northern coast of the same sea: for example, in the island of Jamaica, the Taino and the Ciboney have encountered with each other as they colonised the small island. After a series of encounters among natives of both nations, a discovery was made: save for a few small details, both of them had the same religion, which made them sort of brothers in their culture. An alliance would soon be asked for between the leaders of both nations in order to protect themselves against the other nations, particularly the Kingdom of Utul, whose lands in the native Taino island of Cobba were seen as an affront. Meanwhile, the Utulians, unaware of what is being brewed over in the Caribbean islands, expands enough along the coast, touching with the Prisma lands to the East and meeting the Tototl to the West. It is unknown what the future has in store for these nations, but it is hoped by many that it'll be something good. Azteca: expands, discovers Bartering (+1 EC), +1% Quetzalcoatl Ciboney: expands, discovers Fire (4/5), +1% Animism, meets Kingdom of Utul and Taino Kingdom of Utul: expands, discovers Fire (+1 EC), starts Xanatl Fishing Port (+1 EC) (0.5/8), +4% Utulian Pantheon, meets Ciboney and Tototl Maya: expands, discovers Agriculture, starts Noh Ishim Qaash (+2 EC, +2 Culture, +25% extra from trade) (1/24), +6% Mayan Polytheism Nation of Prisma: expands, discovers Bartering, starts The Good Book (+1% Cannabism) (1/4), +5% Cannabism Taino: expands, discovers Fire (+1 EC), +1% Animism, meets Ciboney Tototl expands, investigates Hunting (2/5), works on Totco Bridge (2/8), +3% Xolapan, meets the Kingdom of Utul Special Events Eskimogypt: After the expansion of the idea of barter to obtain all needed resources, the Eskimogyptian people mounted an expedition upriver along the Nile River in order to explore those zones and perhaps discover new things. It is during this travel that several hundreds of gold ingots were found by the explorers in the desert to the east of the river. These ingots were brought back to Nunapolis, where the gold would be exchanged for several things in the first rudimentary markets that had grown in the city. This would revitalize the economy as some people took upon themselves to buy several of these ingots and transform them into jewels that have become a hit among the high society. (Eskimogypt: +2 Treasury) NPC Diplo: From: Iudea To: Eskimogypt If you stay in Africa, we will stay in Asia. From: Iudea To: Mitanni We would like to sign a non-aggression treaty with you. From: Arago To: Nation of Aruhn Do not attempt to expand further north or you'll be subjected to our wrath. From: Taino To: Kingdom of Utul Vacate immediately the lands you are holding in western Cobba. The End @Everyone: That's a good second update, don't you think so? I must say that this time things are getting good faster. The cradle was certainly a great thing, or else we would be still expanding! Also, no one replied to my suggestion of your placing the barbarians around.@Nuclearkid, Flavius Aetius: if you don't report for next update, your countries will be NPCed and you will have to choose other country to play in here. Stats will be updated tomorrow morning Spain time. Next week I'll be out on vacation, and won't be back till the 29th. Update 3's deadline will be on the next 6 PM WEST (12 PM EST) on 31st July. Hope to see all the orders soon, OK?

EDIT: In the stats, shouldn't this: EC: 5/0 be this: EC: 5/2 because of the Special Event that happened to me? Last edited by Arian; Jul 21, 2009 at 08:40 AM. |
