My suggestions for the new Team


* We make an aditional list of ALL WW2 units made by the team.. (e.g. Kentonio made a lot)

* The Ranking System could be updated, so that Italian, Japaneese, US, British, French and Sovjet Ranks are allowed too. (Army, Air Force and Navy of course)

Although I have never been a member of your team (I'm far too busy with ancient units), I have nonetheless followed your great work with much interest.

The real test for your team....or any team for that matter....is how well friends stick together and support each other in times of crisis.
I'd like to think that your team has the strength to overcome the current difficulties and set the past behind them.
Please don't prove me wrong.

I think you should work a bit "public relation". I have nothing against german units, I think some of the one you made area really nice.
What I disliked was the fact that there seemed to be only german. What's the point of having new german unique units for everything, but no one to fight??
I discovered afterward that there were other countries, like the Turban Infantry, but it disappeared amongst the other.

So I suggest that you try to go for something indeed more international : do german, but also other countries, and make it known by everybody.

One question, who had the problem with the Third Reich Team? I personally saw it as one of the biggest pushes for unit creation for civIII even though it was only german units. Also, for the people who had the problem with to many german units, why didnt you make your own units for the WWII time period? If you were offended by this unit creation time, grow up. WWII happened, CivIII is a HISTORICAL GAME. No one has created gas chambers, death camps and anti-semitism (that i know of), and even if they did, its part of history. I fully support the Third Reich Team, as that name. I think changing the name would be stupid, because your allowing history to ignored.

I have nothing against german units, just against the lack of others. I would love to to be able to recreate WWII with unique units for everybody. But as I don't know anything about animation, or even drawing, I have no choice but to rely on other's job.

I am really contended by what the Third Reich Team has done with German units. But I still think German are now lacking ennemies. A French saying says "A vaincre sans péril, on triomphe sans gloire" (a victory with no danger gives a triumph with no glory).

Right now, they can't fight only "English Tommy" looking units (for Infantry at least). It would be very nice to see GI, or Russian Infantry. And perhaps some paratroopers to.

The pb doesn't exist with armor, as the US, Russian and English all have specific tank done.

Here is an update about the current situation:

I deleted all the "off-topic" posts from the Third Reich unit team thread and will re-open it on Monday. Hopefully this will make it easier for all of us to get past this incident...

The thread name is currently renamed to "THE WWII Civ Team (units, mods and other)", as requested by nonnob. If you guys would like the term Third Reich appear in thread title, I can change it to "The Third Reich unit team (units, mods and other)".

WINTER, Senoj, and OmniMower will be unbanned on Monday.
guyincorner will be unbanned on Tuesday.

This is important: If any of you still have complaints, please PM me instead. Don't post them to this thread.

Feel free to use this thread to talk about the future of the team. All I ask is try not to make the situation any worse. I would really hate to ban any more people.

Tpasmall, I quite agree with you. And I have to more things to add:

1: If everyone cannot have the same freedoms, wherever they may be, than noone should have freedoms.

2: History should NEVER be ignored nor forgotten, for it is only when that happens when history repeats itself:

"Time flows like a river, and history repeats itself" is one of my mottos. It basically means that people will eventually forget, even just a tad, which is when history will reenact itself in some like yet different way.

Example: Alexander the Great -to- Atilla the Hun -to- Willaim the Conqueror -to- Chingges Khaan, the Great Khan -to- Hernando Cortéz -to- Adolf Hitler -to- ???, perhaps George Bush II at this rate. See how it is all like, yet different?

sween32: I totally agree, as do many of my friends. He will be the cause of WW3 because he goes against everyones views (even congress at this point).

Anyway, the TRT has given me soo many great quality units for my web page and I would greatly appreciate a fully-animated WWII mod.

I would hate to see the TRT break up completely, and we will not fully know the future until Monday. Cross your fingers guys.

Someone should get started on a WW3 mod ASAP so that it is ready by the time the war starts. We can all guess who will be involved. It would be kind of cool to simulate a war on your PC as it happens.

This is my point of view. People are too sensitive. Blah blah blah, i'm sure i offended someone with that comment as yes WW2 was horibble. But I'm Polish. i know what happened in that war. I have no Grandparents because of that awful event in history. But I was not offended by the third riech team. If they want to make German WW2 units, if they want to call them selves the TRT, and if they want to have a rank system with German words, LET THEM. I have no problem with it. And TF if you are threatend with a lawsuit buy a few whining babies, just contact me. I can testify on the side of someone who isn't offended and has to live a life without family members because of that war. And also, I'm Christian, i find the porno on the net offensive, but can I threaten to sue playboy or the hundreds of porn sites on the net? NO, thus I dont know if that is a frivilous threat or not. But i understand why you were worried. But I'd look into it.

And also, how long has the TRT been around for? I dont remember hearing as much as a peep from anyone else about that name before this.

But if changing the name helps stop this unpleasantness, i have to say perhapse it may be worth it. I mean we dont want to loose these talented unit creators. But if Nonnob3 does leave for good, his wishes should be respected and his units should be removed from the server.

So am i completely off my rocker? Or am i making sense?

We will keep a presence here at CFC, and thank you pi8ch, for your enthusiasm.

But we have re-opened our own creation forum in another site.
Ran by an administrator who knows we CREATE...not DICTATE!

I will be at CFC less now, because I will be channeling my time into supporting the nonob3 and the other expert mod makers on the new forum.

Our efforts will be unhindered by those who just can't understand that an iron cross doesn't make you a nazi murderer.

I will also help pi8ch any way I can...

Not at all, you make sense.
You can tell the difference between a group of unit mod-makers and a horrible dictatorship.

I am from a town in Scotland where the Luftwaffe killed thousands of civilians.
But I don't find the TRT offensive, because they denounce the excesses of the nazis like all of us.

I have the very top respect for TF and AoA, and the other staff.
