Problem with initial rendering on BTS
Hi everyone,
Basically I have Civ 4 complete and i had played it a few times in June and it worked fine. I then went on holiday and stopped playing it when I came back. So I started having this problem when I tried to play the game, the screen flickers for a minute or so and says initial rendering failed. So I installed the 3.19 patch and it worked! I have been playing it for about 3 weeks with no problems and I assumed that would be the end of it. However, I tried to play today and it happened again! I tried reebooting, installing the latest DirectX but it still doesn't work?! What can I do, considering it has worked already on what I have already got without problems? Should I try to unistall and install again? Thanks |

Firstly, thanks for the welcome, I'm still getting used to the game and all the tactics etc. I thought it was going to be so simple like age of empires or something, this is crazy!
Ok, what is dxdiag? Also, I went ahead and reinstalled it and it works fine now, but I still want to know incase it happens again. Thanks. |
