how can i fix this
i have installed new dawn correctly, placing it into the correct folder but i still get this error when a game is loading
microsoft visual c++ runtime error program:...ilization 4 complete beyond the sword/civ4beyondthesword.exe the application has requested runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. please contact the applications support team for more information how can i fix this

nah its with both of them, it did work with pure rom 2.8 though i think
im not sure though because that was a while ago and it might have been 7.1 :/ its torture seeing all the features of and while having it but not being able to play it i just wonder why it does it its nice to know somebody else shares my problem though

does yours crash as the loading bar says initialising graphics or something as well?

I started having this problem recently, after playing RoM and AND for quite awhile. It turned out that my hard disk needed defragmenting. Just another possibility.
