How do I copy audio instructions from my online school?

I go to an online high school. I am taking Spanish through that school. My school uses a curriculum known as "PowerSpeak". Inside of the class there are recordings of people telling you how to pronounce the vocabulary words. I would like to somehow obtain a recording of that on my hard-drive so that I can review the material if I lose my internet connection. Is there a way to do that? I asked both my spanish teacher and the teacher of my teck class and neither of them knew how to copy the audio. I would prefer not to have to spend any money. I have tried setting my mic on top of my computer's speakers but the sound quality is really poor when I do that. Is there a better way?

PS, dear moderators, if you feel that this post is inapproprate because someone could call it infringment of copy right or piracy or something similar, please just remove the post and please don't penelize me. I only want this information for acidemic purposes and wouldn't be distributing it meaning that it would fall under Fair Use laws because 1, it is for non-profit educational purposes, 3 it is only a small portion of the course, and 4 my actions would have no effect on the course's value. Thank you.
PS moderators, I'm not sure if I posted this in the right location, if there is a better place to put it, please move it for me. Thank you

Easiest way would be to use a soundcard that has a "What U Hear" feature as a recording device, just select that instead of the microphone, and record away.

Can you save the flash file itself to your PC and play it back there? Otherwise something like zelig suggested might be best.

It can also be called Stereo Mix or Wave Out.

How about this?

Found it with a bit of googling, doesn't look like spy/adware, converts flash to wav

Thanks for the help, I used the "What u Hear" feature. I googled it and I found that on vista its called stereo mix. One thing, a strange thing happened when I enabled it. I enabled it and instantly every program on my computer froze/crashed! I restarted my computer and everything seems to be working ok now.

What it's called depends on what hardware you have. What U Hear is Creative's name for it

Thanks for the help. I have another question, I am using stereo mix to record sound however the only program that I have to do the actual recording is Microsoft Sound Recorder. What iratates me is that in Vista home basic and Vista Business it records in .wav but in Vista home premium (what I have) it records in .wma. I have a legal copy of a movie and I wanted to place a song from the video in a Flash animation that I was making for my Flash class (this is legal according to the USA's Fair Use laws). I recorded the audio using stereo mix and sound recorder and flash wouldn't allow me to use the sound. I looked it up and found out that Flash can't use .wma. Is there a way to either make Sound Recorder to record in .wav or to convert .wma files to .wav (or mp3)? Also, our church records each Sunday's service. The problem is that the files only will play out of one speaker (something about it only being recorded on one channel or something). Is there a way to get my computer to play the sound out of both speakers? Thanks

MediaCoder can convert files and edit channels

And you really should be recording with Audacity. It can edit the audio and save as wav
