The big problem for us right now is the trade agreement part. They have 4 teams each researching a different path, and then they all get it. We get 1 path, that's it.
Plus they get to leverage more GP(bulbing) for crazy advanced techs...

Nevermind. I misread the stats. The points they have are not that impressive.

BTW Slaze will you resume taking turns?

I will be away form the 6th of August to the first of September and while I will be able to post here from my laptop, I will not be able to take turns.

So i want to make sure that you are still up for it.

So a recap on the situation.

This turn Amazon completed the great wall!
Our workboat discovered a viking city on the mainland build towards quatronia (this is very interesting)
An amazon scout is where our holkan is.
Next turn we complete a settler an tech monarchy so we will switch to slavery and hereditary rule.
The royal gardens grow to pop 5 next turn and a settler will be started there and whipped at first opportunity.
The Royal baths grow in 2 turns and the granary will be whipped immidiatelly.
Capital will make workboat for new city (so that monument is whipped there asap) and after that holkan to free our holkan to go explore.

That is the plan....screens will be posted later in the day...I had to rush.

So what's the research plan at the moment?

In particular, when do we plan to go for Iron Working? Presumably we need to aim for our fifth city to have Iron in its fat cross, so we need to know where it is soon?

The plan is animal husbandry, writting, iron working, math, Col, civil service...maybe insert archery & currency somewhere in there...

Hopefully we will find Maverics soon, make a deal and plan research paths...

In the light of the current situation, I would prioritise Iron Working more. Even if we are in bad position to get any swordsmen, we could try to deny our enemies having them.

IMO, a combination of Axes/Holkans/Chariots will better serve our military in the near future. Iron will be valuable if we ever get to the point of attacking cities, but at this time, it will not serve us in very many ways.

Metal Casting for Triremes will allow our navy to be as good as it can be in the near future, and the 25% hammer boost from forges will be a nice benefit also.

Yes. I also believe that those are sufficient in near future and we are capable of producing all but chariots with our current resources. However what I would suggest now is trying to deny Amazons' access to as many strategical resources as possible. Longer we can keep them away from any metals, the better.

Spears would also be important against their chariots, which would attack our Holkan/Axemen.

Iron working is important to know where iron is most of all and to cut jungle (secondary) if needed, not to make swords.

I agree. So maybe we aren't so fussed about attacking their cities, seeing as they're in the larger alliance and we just want to stay alive long enough for their alliance to feel their plan is too Pyrrhic. If that's our best hope, so be it. But if so we still want to deny them swordsmen with which to attack our cities. So we still really need to know where the iron is.

And tertiary Iron Working also nice for production if we can settle near iron. And as long as they don't have iron, they cant have Crossbowmen, Pikemen or Kinght either.

Would it be fair to guess that the iron is on the arms, given that's where the Vikings settled a stray city recently?
