Question Marathon Reseach with Noraml build times

How can you change the the original, an expansion, or a mod so that you play the game like normal but have marathon research rates but have normal or epic construction times?

If you look at Assets\XML\GameInfo\, you'll find a file Civ4GameSpeedInfo.xml.
Look at it and use commom sense .
If you then still have problems ask again .

Oh, and never ever modify the original game files.
Create a new small mod instead.

what is iTrainPercent?

-Training of units speed? Like all units or just settlers and workers?

What is iConstructPercent?

-Construction of world wonders speed? Or overall construction speed?

what is iCreatePercent?

-No idea

what is iBuildPercent?

-Overall build speed?

what is iImprovementPercent?

-Build speed of just improvements? Like libraries and barracks?

MY eyes went to this one
<iResearchPercent>300</iResearchPercent>
found that one in the marathon section, i would take that line and replace the similar line in the normal speed section. That should do what you want.
The game may be too short then, so you might also want to move the gameturninfos section.

Yes, that should work .

@values:
iTrainPercent: Yep, all units.
iConstructPercent: Overall speed for buildings.
iCreatePercent:...uhm...err...not sure, projects maybe.
iBuildPercent: Building rate for workers, how long it takes to build the improvements.
iImprovementPercent: How long it takes to upgrade cottages, towns, etc.
