Does CiV have a marathon mode?

Here is a question that I would very much like to see addressed in future information releases. If it has already been answered, would someone kindly direct me to that information?

Does Civilization V have a marathon mode or something similar?

Thanks so much.

It hasn't been officially announced yet, but it was a popular enough feature from Civ IV that I don't see any reason to believe it won't be included.

The GDC interview on Giantbomb.com ended with this statement, "We'll have a variety of map sizes and game speeds to play on. Some of that will be familiar to you if you've played Civilization IV. If you want to play a game that feels like it's stretching over the course of history, that will certainly be an option for you." I don't know if it will be called "marathon mode", but this seems like confirmation of "something similar."
