That seems excessive. What'd you do, post about using a cracked copy of the game or something?

Shouldn't have done whatever it was you did to get cautioned and stop complaining about getting punished.

Sounds fishy salty_mud.
I don't know what you did. I still support it in this way: No protection whatsoever > signing up for forums for support and patches > Steam > DRM

maybe you could try contacting by mail to paradox, not by the forum.... i think that anyway about piracy is that they really make a game have free publicity... know about a bad game called spore who sudently became a economical success? if you really love games you would end up buying the game... but having problems with a forum is another kind of thing...paradox actually let the game alone download patch 1.2... but why 1.3 wont? i hate that forums specifically |

Game currently on Steam sale. Is it worth buying? I heard it's kinda glitchy/imbalanced.

It's imba right now, but the patches have been making significant strides. But the glitches are still annoying.
It's still worth buying; all Pdox games are worth buying.

I haven't played either Victoria game yet so I don't know how they play. I also don't know how the imbalances would effect game enjoyment either. Do they detract from game enjoyment in a noticable way? If so I'll just keep playing EU3:HTTT until that's corrected.

Well in that case, ask us when the official 1.3 patch comes out, and we'll tell you how much improved it is. Deal?

![]() Still, if it's worth the money at that point I would still buy it. EU3 has been a phenomenal investment. One of the best in my entire gaming experience. (I got Complete + HTTT for $6 and it's been worth waaaaaay more than that to me.)

So I bought this game and started some games to learn it. I do not like manuals or tutorials so I started a dozen or more games just to play a couple of years to learn it. This is with patch 1.2, not the beta patch.
Anyway, the game I am playing now I did not abandon early because I think I understand the basics now and it went quite well. Playing the USCA I expanded to Panama and Yucatan which satisfied my territorial hunger. I had some smart capitalists in the beginning who built cheap but profitable cement factories in all states but one. I encouraged clergymen to increase literacy and focused on industrial techs too boost my industrial growth. It went, as I mentioned, quite well. In the early 1880s I had 400 industrial score (rank 8), prestige for rank 7 and 30 brigades with manpower to build 10 more. My capitalists built and expanded factories like crazy and I had an income of 150ish at an effective taxrate of under 6%, which gave me a nice surplus while having all sliders at 100%. Then I became a great power in 1882 and everything went downhill in a few month. My daily income dropped to -200 because all factories made huge losses. I had to cancel the subsidies which caused a shutdown of some 75% of them. My industrial score dropped from 400 to 100 and my tax income went from 150 to 30.This is because my factories would not sell their goods. The supply of all goods is suddenly 50%-100% higher than the demand. Is this normal? An economic crash on such a massive scale makes my situation (and the global situation, the market is global, isn't it?) quite interesting but I do not know if this is not a bug. I do not expect the economy to ever recover again with the missing demand from the factories. Could some experienced player tell me if this is something to be expected in this game and I just have to wait some years until the economy is good again? And while I am asking here one more question. My clergymen pops are growing bigger and bigger. I encouraged it in the beginning to boost literacy but after they were at 2% I stopped. But they did not... Now they are 8,5% of my population and they are growing faster and faster. Reducing my educational spending will slow this somewhat but this is hurting my literacy. Is this normal to have such a high percentage of clergymen? |

@chegel - Times get tough in the 1880s for everybody. For some reason in all my games (in 1.2), there is a giant timber shortage and none of the factories which rely on timber crash and burn. This will cause unemployment/unhappiness which will increase rebel spawn. As for clergy, if you keep the education funding around 80%, the clergy will stop growing, but you won't sacrifice the educational efficiency. Also, encouraging other pops (I usually choose clerks), will cause more than a few priests to go into industry.
