Attack a city with a naval unit heals it if HP below certain amount

So, it seems like attacking a city with a naval unit can only reduce a city so far. Attacking with a melee unit can reduce it further.

I attacked with a melee unit, reducing the city below where the naval units could take it - then attacked it with a naval unit. The city healed!

Can anyone confirm this?

all ranged units including naval and air, can only reduce a city to 1 hp.

That matches what I've seen, once you go below 1 HP on the city, additional ranged attacks by cats and archers do no damage.

(I should probably check that the attacker gets no XP for attacking a city that is down to 1 HP. Anyone check that yet to make sure it can't be exploited?)

No XP, I keep doing this by accident and wasting moves because there's no good display of HP and I don't notice when the city reaches 1 HP.

They heal 1HP / turn, I believe. Is this the "healing" you saw?

It got +3, right after hitting it with a naval unit. I don't think it was the +1 per turn healing.

One thing was that the melee unit I attacked it with died... maybe it destroyed the city (so the city was -2), but the unit died so couldn't take the city. Then hitting it with the ranged attack forced it to +1 (for +3 damage done).

Will have to check this some how...

Naval Bombard Heals City

3 Frigates were used to bring down defense of city, so Land unit could take it. When the city reached 0 health, i clicked to bombard and it healed the city 1 Hit point.

Because it was multiplay, i did not get a save file. If anyone can confirm this oddity , please post here.

Thanks.

Moderator Action: Threads merged.

Thanks for noticing , but it's already known.
A savegame would be nice to reproduce it .

Can you change this to "unconfirmed" rather than "not bug"?

Removed the "No bug" sign, but we still need a savegame to see that this is a bug.
