You keep all the bonuses. The only exception is when the branch specifically says it is exclusive with another. That only happens with 2 "pairs", freedom<>autocracyand and piety <> rationalism.

There is not. You can't use mods in multiplayer. Both things are wierd.

Looking at what they say to you and how the react like another player says won't help either. One turn thay say you how they love you and want to cooperate with you, and 30 sec later they declare war. Like I said, don't bother at all, just expect any leader to attack at any time, and also don't think any leader which is angry will attack. Looks like a dice roll.
If that is true, then what is the point of a Pact of Cooperation? It does imply some kind of long term relationship.

It does nothing to relations. There are no relations.
In this same post somebody quotes a dev saying pacts give you better deals when you trade things.

I don't mind playing Civ without Religion. Espionage is nice to have, but not absolutely essential. I never used it much. Diplomacy is essential for a good role playing experience.

Hopefully it can be modded in by a resourceful modder.

Hi I am a newb at civilization,

Can someone please explain to me what the benefits are of getting a big city(s).

What does it affect?
(My production speed I would hope. and I would guess science speed)

If it's not beneficial I'd rather let them starve and focus on production and gold.

Thanks in advance =)

Benefit of big cities is as always you can work more tiles (thus affect gold income thru markets), have more specialists and so on, but what is new is that science depends directly on population size.

Why not just get a ton of smaller cities instead of a few big ones then? (since in theory you can have 3 average cities having the same population of a single huge one), well mainly because of penalty to culture. Every new city augments the culture needed for a new civic by a large %, and you don't want that because culture is hard to come by and civics are very powerful.

How can you be so sure?

What if i have a pact of cooperation with ghandi, that montezuma declares war on him, and I react by declaring war on monte and fighting him? Are you absolutely. 100% sure that the AI will treat me just as any other person and not like me more for being true to my word and helping with the war?

If a City state has access to gold and furs. When I get ally with them do I get access to those as well or do I have to build a road to their city?

The only way to "trade" techs is through a Research Agreement, where you don't know what you get. Not sure about maps.

"2. what difference does planet age have"

It changes how the planetary surface looks. A younger planet will have more mountains than an older planet etc.

A question about the The Pyramids.

Do they;
a) decrease the time needed to build a worker, or
b) decrease the time the worker needs to build an improvement?

The way it is described in the civilopedia it can be either...

thanks for the previous quick reply.

One final question (I am getting the hang of things )

When a unit gets promoted and you make him a medic.

Will he automatically heal +1 everyturn, and provide this healing to adjacent units.
Or does he need to "Fortify until healed" To provide this effect?

(I really hate you can't raze all city's, hope a mod will come to fix this :P)

You get access to them right away, no need for roads (just the same as in your own empire).

Yes, but I'm sure that by turn 77 I've forgotten when my next soldier is due That's why I was thinking of the event log, that will you tell you that "You became allied with City State X on turn 62", giving you a reminder of when your gift will arrive.

Do I have access to them only when I'm ally or when I'm friendly as well?

I've just installed the game and when I configure a new game I cannot find the "No Unique Civ option" to disable the unique Civ units or building etc. etc.

Is this option missing in CIV V ?

Several times I had a pact of cooperation with somebody. With the same leader I had a pact of secrecy against somebody else. I was faithfull with both agreemetns. And suddenly both AIs, the one I had the pacts with and the objective of our path of secrecy declared on me on the same turn.

This has happened several times, as many as any civ declaring(or not declaring) at any state of "likeing" (or "not likeing") towards me.
