Direct x 10/11 dropped???
OK. I just finished a game last night in DX 10 mode. I got back from work today, and now it's saying that DX10 requires SP 2...which would make sense if I was running XP but i'm on W7. Or did they stealth change something? I added a new GPU but I downloaded the latest drivers so that shouldn't be an issue. weird.

Maybe it thinks your running in vista, that has a sp2. Check to see if the steam exe. is in vista comparability mode. Other than that I don't know? Reboot and try again. I haven't updated since Monday so I can't comment really.

... hmmmmmm ...
on a semi-related note, is anyone aware of why I am being denied rights to update my video driver on Win7 64-bit system? And yes, I do have full priveledges. ![]() Working on getting the actual message now. EDIT: Cancel this. I just downloaded the latest ATI drivers (10.10) and they are actually installing. Well, it sounded good but it didn't work. I'm not in compatability mode at all :-/

See the Tech FAQ, the point " I am running Windows 7 and the button for DirectX 11 is messed up, i can't start with DirectX 11". |

Try copying your civ v folder, unistalling steam, reinstall/paste back civ v, reauthenticate and see if it changes. Or reinstall civ v. Or delete all the .ini files and restart. Or uninstall/reinstall your video drivers, double check you are runnig 7. That's abot everyhing I can suggest, in no particular order
.Edit: do what the j said, and check the FAQ.
