Don't the pictures on the steam page make the game look better than it is?

When I first saw those screenshots I thought they looked good. I think they even look better than what we have now. I'm not bashing, just stating my opinion.

I think the opposite, the pictures of Steam are very old and don't do justice to the graphics. They posted those 5 picture many months before the release and they never bothered to update the site with more recent ones.

Same for the video, there is only 1 video and it doesn't show any gameplay, it only shows scenes from the introduction.

Food in a restaurant never looks as good as it does in advertising either. Especially fast food ...

Maybe we're seeing different advertisements, but fastfood looks like total disgusting inedible crap in advertisements.

Fast food killed my dog.

And violated my neighbor.

I think that preview pictures before Civ V was released gave too much optimism for people for the combat, I specifically remember watching this picture
http://media.pcgamer.com/files/2010/...10-Bombard.jpg
where everything is going all Gettysburg, lines of infantry with a flanking cavalry and artillery in the backround giving support.

I thought we'd get these cool battles with formations and lines of infantry where you would have to use strategy to get flanking procedures, instead it was all about three cavalry units smashing everything that the AI dribbled towards you..
