Angry Wall Street in PTW

Is it just me, or is it really annoying that they moved wall street to the tech The Corportation, so you have to wait to get your 50 gpt that much later. In vanilla civ3, i loved going after Banking because i had the ability to build Wall Street very quickly and it was good to be able to pay for my units and improvements and for buying techs and luxuries from the AI. Now you have to have five stock exchanges before you are able to construct Wall Street, before you needed five banks.

Has this wrecked anyone else's game in the Late Middle Ages?

Well, its kind of just changed the strategy around a bit... The stock exchange does make more sense, but it also does seem like it was just thrown in there so you had to wait longer :-\ I dunno.

Woah, I didn't even know they did this! (I haven't played much PTW yet.) This does seem kind of frustrating... I've always built Wall Street ASAP, and now it looks like I'll have to wait a lot longer.

A maximum of 50 gpt isn't going to make that much of a difference. In my mod I've even made it so that Wall Street can only be built by a Democracy. Unfortunately, the effect won't shut off even if I switch govs, so a Communist gov still gets the benefit from it.

This is not a big deal at all since you now have a bunch of stock exchanges that'll give you even more gold. Combine this with the commercial docks for your coastal cities and money woes are a thing of the past.

Yeah, but it takes awhile to get the money rollin in warpstorm since it takes longer to get The Corporation.

It really does make a change on small maps. 50gpt from 5 to 10 cities - that can be 20% difference in research rate just at the point where the 'tech whoring' starts. So i don't like them pushing it back.

But you have to admit that having Wall Street before you've built a Stock Exchange and have Corporations to trade doesn't make logical sense.
