Is it worth it??

Happy New Year to all, I a new to this forum. I just have 1 quick and easy question. I like all the civs so far but the multiplayer is what I have been waiting for. i have read alot of reviews that say PTW is not worth the trouble. But I want to hear from the people who play. Is PTW worth getting??

if youve been waiting for the multiplayer then i would wait until they bring out the next patch. once thats out ask here again, cause from what i heard the multiplayer isn't very good.
i was going to buy PTW but i'm not paying £19 for the extra SP stuff, and i know that the MP will be even more evil to me than others, since i have the most basic modem ever made. it would take for ever to load things and change things, and my parents say i use the net to much anyway.

I bought it for the extra civs and abilities too. Fortunately, I was able to waste $30 on it.

From what I understand, and I haven't done this yet, but PBEM is supposed to be okay. But there are all other kinds of issues trying to play online. . .

Myself, it's all I play anymore. Something keeps drawing me back to this game. Sure, it could be better, but I like what I got and I'm willing to wait for the patches to come out. . . (Of course, I'm STILL waiting for the D2X 1.10 patch to come out)

If youre a hardcore fan and player like me, you should buy it, cause its worth it. if youre not, just wait for the new patch.

The new civs are nice, some new functions are very handy (especially moving groups), the AI seems a little stronger but the price is too high for an addon IMHO.

I only tried hotseat multiplayer once, which worked pretty good. Most people seem not to impressed of the quality of the other multiplayer functions.

Civ fanatics have to buy it, others should wait until better patches are out and the price drops to half the amount.
