I think it finally got to the point where he had to post *something*, even if it was just "still here"... funny part was it is posted right after someone called him chicken for not posting!

These patches would probably be out sooner if they didn't fire 95% of their staff after release. Just a thought. |

![]() Random Conspiracy Theory (to keep the trolls busy) SO here's what happened: Firaxis dev. start working on a patch. Get franken group to check it out, test it etc. Greg gets told that it's ok to post a patch thread and that the patch will be ready by the end of February. Greg goes forth and makes the thread. Puts in some nice info, but no ETA and also states that it's a 'non-final' list 2K/maybe Firaxis management say "let's keep this DLC/Patch combo going" Dev: ok, but who/where are the people to work on it? And which civ? Said Management: Looking at you! Go see what the fans wanted, then pick a random one. Dev: But we won't get the patch done in time. The customers are expecting it by the end of Feb. SM: So? Don't care, we need more money coming in and the patches don't pay for themselves! .. Nearing end of February.. Greg: Er, I can't change the title of the thread and I've personally stated it's February. SM: So? DLC is coming. Don't care about the date of the patch. Random person: Isn't that bad? the fans might get upset. SM: So? 'leak' some info about the DLC. That'll keep them busy and talking and they'll forget about the patch. RP: errr? They aren't forgetting the patch. SM: Menh, release the DLC on Friday! And Greg can't post on the forums today to ensure we are 'secret' about it. Greg: I've already said that we don't release patches on Fridays.. SM: So? /end Random Conspiracy Theory |

I don't know what to say. How about this!!!
![]() The 3rd is a Thursday why did they list it as a Friday? Why are they talking about releasing the DLC on Friday when it is supposed to be set for release this Thursday. They are turning this slight conspiracy into a scandal! Last edited by nokmirt; Feb 28, 2011 at 05:30 PM. |

It would appear BB Codes don't work in titles

Well if they found a serious issue on the day the patch was supposed to be released, I think the patch has not been tested enough. I hope they take at least 1 more week
to test everything before they release it. Civ5 does not need rushed patches.

Yeah, I'd rather have a working patch than a quick patch, considering that they're automatically installed.

Yet people complain the game isn't being fixed fast enough.

Maybe in trying to rid us of cascading denunciations they accidentally ended up with cascading friendships, and that eventually led to a civ orgy?

Now let's see if I can peel myself off of this couch I've been on for 14 hours waiting for this.
