Any way to kill/destroy a city >3 early on?
I usually end up capturing a lot of cities, getting 40-50 in crappy locations, with an upset Technocracy. Thanks |

Make all the citizens scientists. They'll starve and the city will loose citizens. you can also build settlers (they take 1 citizen from the city)

I have a question. Why not just disband the city? Does it affect your score?

You can't disband cities over size 3.

What I normally do is bombard the targetted city with 9 units a square for a number of turns the take over it. If you use ship of the lie or battleship with a SOP or troopship full of marines then there will be no enemy seaside cityies.

Matter of tactics:
Does a city still get food production from squares occupied by enemy forces ? Otherwise, I just pound the HE double hockeysticks out of a city that is a little too well defended. D.

I know this is an old thread but the way that I get rid of cities after I capture them is switch all production to science so they are starving and have them build carvans only. I know settlers would be better and a little quicker shrinking the city but by then I dont want the settlers and I could use the caravans.
