"All Watched Over by Machines of Loving Grace"

I like to think (and
the sooner the better!)
of a cybernetic meadow
where mammals and computers
live together in mutually
programming harmony
like pure water
touching clear sky.

I like to think
(right now please!)
of a cybernetic forest
filled with pines and electronics
where deer stroll peacefully
past computers
as if they were flowers
with spinning blossoms.

I like to think
(it has to be!)
of a cybernetic ecology
where we are free of our labors
and joined back to nature,
returned to our mammal
brothers and sisters,
and all watched over
by machines of loving grace.

-Richard Brautigan, 1967.

I just sent for Robopocalypse (Amazon) by Daniel H. Wilson, and this phrase is the title of a chapter near the end.

Kind of and philosophically interesting show, especially if you counterpoint to the theme of the Terminator movies. Is the digital medium really empowerment, absolutely? And also the idea of empowerment being good vs. empowerment being bad (leading to anarchy and crime).

Also a little creepy/interesting to see how many Cali entrepreneurs being Rand-heads.

The part about the communal Pong game is sort of a "China Brain" experiment right?

Also interesting was the part about unrestricted Globalism being conspired about in SE Asia (I don't know anything about the claims about Rubin/Treasury withholding info from Clinton). I think there is a bit of ideological bias who how it might be interpreted though (though the video was pretty good at being neutral).
