RIP Big Man :( :( :(
The Big Man Himself, Clarence Clemons, Saxophonist for Bruce Springsteen and the E St Band, passed away last night. He was prob the most famous horn player of his generation, and one of the only musicians, period, with enough stage presence and charisma to take the spotlight away from Bruce.
What's your favorite Big Man memory or song? One of my favorites is from Born to Run, which has the best rock Sax solo ever...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IxuThNgl3YA |

Hard to beat the solo in Born to Run . The video clip with various bits of live footage always gets me going

RIP.
His saxophone solo was what made Lady Gaga's "the edge of glory" so awesome! |

Lots of kids took up sax because of him. In absolute agreement on Born to Run, downtown.

Sad day indeed. My parents told me I saw Clarence Clemons play with the Dead when I was like 8 or 9 months old. Bummer, that man could play the sax, mang.

RIP.
. . . . . . Favorite Song? I like him best with Jackson Browne in "Your a friend of mine". I respect Clemons a lot as a musician, but I never quite liked his solo singing. I probably like his sax in anything he did.

Really late, but RIP Big Man. And his best work is found in Jungleland, obviously.
