Can I play on 2.0GHz i7 MB Pro?
Hey all,
I'd love it if someone could tell me if they have any experience running the App Store version of Civ V on a machine just like mine. It's a MacBook Pro Intel Core i7 2GHz machine with an AMD Radeon 6490M video card with 256MB VRAM. It's got a 500GB SSDrive and 8GB of RAM. It's sort of sketchy (to me anyway) where this fits on the spectrum, system-requirements-wise. The official Civ V specs are for an Intel Core 2 Duo and my machine is a quad core, but the GHz requirement throws me a little as mine is only 2.0 and the minimum is 2.4, but, again, that's with Core 2 Duo. I see that the recommended specs are 2.6GHz and 512MB of VRAM with quad core, but I'm just wondering what the user experience is with a 2.0GHz quadcore and 256VRAM...if anybody has tried it. I see one review on the App Store says that the game runs fine on a system like mine, but I'd like a second (or 3d, 4th, 5th) opinion before I drop $50. Thanks! Smithorse |

You can email support@aspyr.com with your system specs, and they'll test it out for you if they have the kit.

I think you are pretty safe. I'm playing on a 2.1GHz Mac Mini Core2Duo and don't need to have all settings at lowest. at times it feels sluggish - but i hear that's also with much better machines.

CPU-wise it is plenty, but the 6750M would be a lot better
