Great people from 2 different cities - can they come out together?

Say City A is 499/500 (+10/turn) for a Great Scientist.
City B is 498/500 (+10/turn) for a Great Engineer.

On the next turn, can they be born together? Thanks.

Yes. I really don't there is a limit on how many Great Folks can be born on any given turn.

It is indeed possible.

It's in fact a great strategy as it brings out 1 GP alot earlier than it would have otherwise. I once did 3 at the same time, had to sacrifice a few other things but it is certainly very powerfull. Took forever for 4th to come out though

If going wide this is a great thing to do for your first or second great person. Try to get 3 or 4 if you manage to time. It's amazing but you need to plan really well. Wonders can easily screw it up so if you have none it is easier.

I tried to build two GPs in each of Eight cities (16 total), alas it prioritised the capital and ignored the other seven cities!

EDIT - Without a capital City being involved the priority switches to the second built City.

Thanks. Does that mean only 1 of each type of Great Person can be born at a given turn?
City A - Great Scientist
City B - Great Engineer - OK

City A (capital) - Great Scientist - Only this
City B - Great Scientist

No - It will prioritise the capital. I never have tried the same concept with a captured capital plus your own Capital !

EDIT - So yes - you will get the Great Scientist from the Capital but the Great Engineer will have to wait, If from there you can then produce a Scientist at exactly double the speed in your capital then the same will happen next time (assuming this was your first GP).

I've never seen it in two different cities but you can get two GP at the same time in one city if adjust specialist slots so that two bars will fill up at the same time.

You guys are right ofcourse. You can still potentially get four in a city (capital is easiest).

you can only get multiples from a single city. the counter is incremented between cities. it goes through in the order in which you founded the cities.
