Hello, bestrfcplayer here to bring you his first Civilization 4 story.

Well, here we are at our starting location. Capital City is named Civfanatics. (btw, a story will come later, this is just the place holder).

I imagine that he plays in windowed-mode and then maximized the window, which gives a non-native resolution for the game in many cases (i.e. the graphics get stretched out of proportion).

He's probably better off just increasing the resolution to one of the supported resolutions (Ctrl + o -> Graphics -> Screen Resolution) and playing the game with some Windows Desktop space existing around the outside of the window
OR
changing the game to Full Screen Mode (Ctrl + o -> Graphics -> checkmarking the Full-screen Mode option on the right-hand side of the screen).

I agree that the capital's location is pretty terrible-looking. 1NW or 1E would have been preferable. Maybe he still has time to change his capital's location, if he still has the original autosaved saved game.

Only ivory, only space for 1(!) farm before civil service... you might want to regenerate.

I mean, you only have space for one farm for your capital. You'll have, like, a size six capital, because you have absolutely no food resources.

Thanks. Oh, and before I forget: Update!!!!!!!!

"Hello, who might you be?" I said

"I am the great Montezuma of the great Aztec Empire, and I will destroy you!!!! Grrrrrrr!"

"mkay." Wow. Who raised THAT guy I thought.

Then we exchanged out farewells.

Spoiler:

The very next turn, we discovery archery.

"Um, sire, how do you fire this thing?" Said one of my new solders.

"Well" Said I, "You..... (demonstrates how to shoot a bow and arrow).. and that's how it's done. "

"Well, yah, but you killed your best general/military adviser." Said the solder.

"Ah crap. Well, looks like your up for the job kid. Btw, what's your name?" I said.

"The name's TJ sire."

"TJ huh? Welp, you've got the job kid. Don't screw it up, or it'll be your head."

"*Gulp* Yes sire!"

Spoiler:

We then end Chapter 1 with the discovery of Pottery. Apparently my scientists managed to learn how to mold clay into shaped. Doesn't explain how this leads to the mysterious new tech of "Writing" though.

Just figured out the problum: it was that I just simply copied and pasted the pics on top of each other in paint. Guess I won't do that again

Screenshots of Civ4 get saved into the Screenshots folder, in Civ4. If you go Computer -> Local Disk -> Civilization 4 -> screenshots, you can find the screenshots there. Then you go to imgur.com, do the same, and upload them. LOT easier.

Hi bestrfcplayer,

What is your Windows' screen resolution set to? Do you know? If you don't know, you can probably find out by right-clicking on an empty area of your desktop, choosing Properties, and then looking around in there for a section that tells you your Screen Area in pixels. It should be 2 numbers.
