Forts not working as Canal for navy units..
WHY IS THIS HAPPENING!
I have to give away my newly colonized town to russia and dec on her just to make an city canal -.- I want my navy to tear apart the aztec navy just tantzling out of reach. Massive inland sea on pangea. Edit: I also have to wait two turns for resistance to be over to hopefully tear stupid town apart instead of being foreed to recapture it, gimme raze city optino for my cities again I miss it from civ 3 That or make damn forts work as canal again, I'm razing the whole area cuz of stupid aztecs placing the cities very poorly. Why is this happening?
Because that's the way forts work. This is Civ5, not 4. |

I too liked that forts worked as channels in civ IV. But you can raze a city when you conquer it. I don't think it's possible aferwards.

Well I can't find how to delete my cities via lua scripter I have to uh, relocate my citizens somehow via nuclear missles.
This is just horrible, Canal Improvement should be an option we all can use. Sigh. A single screw up mean 1-3 minute wait on reloading the game cuz of darn city state too nearby. my allied one, and a american cannon being a nuisance. |

It sadden me that forts no longer worked as a canal as well....you are not alone. Add it to the wish list I guess. And HEY look on the bright side, in a game where something as simple as new resources are desired by pretty much everyplayer, we got stone! STONE!

Canals as an improvement might be a nice idea, but I always found the ability to use forts as canals a bit weird and a cheat.
But a canal-improvement, with maintenance like roads, would be a nice addition

You can raze a city at any time after you conquer it, as long as it is raze-able in the first place. Just go into the city screen and look towards the bottom near the "Buy a Tile" button.

If there is going to be canals, then let's have canals, but again, imho, I don't think it's really necessary. |

Least-stressful way to move a poorly-placed AI city:
