@Dancing Hoskuld

I brought some of thsese up before but I wanted to explain why they should be added.

Bear
Since most Mammoth Riders are linked to the Mammoth resource I though it might be nice to like the Bear Riders to the bear resource. Also all the new bears could randomly make the resource upon hunting. And even spawn from the resource on the map.

Alligator (Could rename Crocodile)
This would give the swamps a resource (as well as other location like Jungle). It also could be linked to the different crocodillians in spawning or make the resource on hunting. They can be hunted or event farmed for their meat and leather.

Tiger
Hunted for their skins, bones and organs. They like the other could be spawn points for Tigers or make them upon hunting. They like the others would be a good bonus for Zoos.

Note that all would be Hunting/Safari Camp resources and would follow similar to the Elephant resource.

They are from the Resource Mod.

I really stuffed up my working copy on Friday and it has taken since then to get it back to where I know what I am doing. I tried to change Barrel Cactus, Date Palms and Coconuts from features into resources in one go.

I am now thinking I should keep the Barrel Cactus feature and add a Peyote resource as well using the same graphics.

The animal resources you suggest may be better as lairs (implemented as improvements). They could upgrade to a Safari Park when worked. Great another improvement line. Having the Mammoth and Elephant camps upgrade "automatically" to Safari Park may be the way to go also.

Now i like that even better, because back in the say they ate, chewed and even made tea out of peyote. People apply peyote to the skin for treating fractures, wounds, and snakebite plus its used for treating fevers, joint pain (rheumatism), and paralysis.
Peyote has a long history of ritualistic and medicinal use by indigenous Americans and was used by medicine men as a spiritual (religious) medicine/ceremonies and such.

I think it might be too confusing to have the Barrel Cactus and Peyote share a graphic. Could you use this instead from the Any Fun Mod has some cool terrain features such as types of forests and "scrub". We could just re-name it "Cactus" or "Chaparral" or something since we already have a scrub terrain.

I believe the types of forest are from FFH2 or something.

In short use the Any Fun Mod "Scrub" for a terrain feature and make the Prickly Pear and Peyote resources.

Whats the difference between a lair and a unit spawning from a resource? Note if you want more they had a lion and a wolf resource too.

It also too bad the Dune Wars caves don't work. They would be good "lairs".

EDIT: Note if you must have barrel cactus and peyote could you post their NIF and dds files? I may be able to edit their textures so you can tel them apart.

We shall see. Does "Any Fun Mod" have cold climate variations of the new and old forest? If it were Eucalypt forest then the difference between burnt and ancient is only one or two years growth.

I don't see the point in having every plot on the map have a resource. The maps, even gigantic, are just too small for the number or map resources we have.

1. No, but I have been trying to find a normal forest so I could edit the textures to make a Eucalyptus Forest and Mangrove Forest.

2. I use large maps and not every square has a resource. I am not sure if its my map or not but some seem actually spare sometimes.

3. While looking for forest files I found a better "Scrub" terrain feature in the downloads section. See here.

Anyone know where I can find the DeciduousForest (not Conifer) NIF and DDS files? I can't seem to find them.

When you add a Coconut resource you should use this model.

The existing model could possibly be used for something else either a new resource or new terrain feature. However I am unsure what.

Also other resources we may want to consider ...

- Pomegranate
- Pistachio
- Coca Plant

Again it is not on mine.

OK these errors are going to continue to happen because I don't use the standard C2C terrain but the alternate for health reasons. I suggest someone else take up looking after the basic terrain and terrain features.

Well I have no problems. I even made sure everything was in a folder we don't have called kaktus to be sure.

BtW do you remember where "we" got the caves art from. I found another in the Multiverse mod but it does not look good on C2C terrains, either type.

The Caves were from Dune Wars.

In the Upper Right Corner. Also in the lower right corner are barren Peaks if you want to grab those for something.

Oh that is right they are only called caves in the game text so I need to find that then the feature it is used in and then it's art definition so I can find where the art is.

If you are playing near the poles you will get more barley than wheat. I keep forgetting that in Civ there is more room for land at the poles than there is at the equator, ie the opposite of the real world. I may need to look at the spawn rates and latitudes again.

at the moment the new resources like mango ore papaya are all over the map. I mean not only the two resources but the bundle of them you put in together. while you find them all over the map, resources like wheat ore potatoes can be very rare ( yes its from map to map different what kind of resource is rare ) but these mango's ore papayas are everywhere ^^ while I miss whine ore olives
