TetriNET Tournment.

It depends on when you intend to run them. Don't forget the civers are from all over the world. And most of them only have internet access at work. Ok, I can come into office the week-ends (I usually do that to browse on CFC. Yeah I'm addicted

) but we'll need also a common IM tool. Or at least one person who has several IM running so he/she can be the "gateway" to fix the meeting point. So far, I recommend the use of ICQ and MSN messenger.
Yahoo is definitely eliminated. All this week it was impossible to connect to yahoo messenger (servers down) so...

I think PaleHorse can be this gateway since he has both ICQ and MSN. You should have MSN too.

I'm going to have a TetriNET tournment. The first one will be a 10 player tournment. So if you want to play in the tournment, please post below. After we have all the players then I will generate a schedule.

Partial Rules:

-The players will be split into 2 groups. They will play 10 games.
-The rest of the players will be reshuffled and a similar round of games will happen. Then the remaining players will enter the final round.

Point system:
-1st place in the game gets 3 points
-2nd place in the game gets 2 points
-3rd place in the game gets 1 points
After 10 games all the scores are added up and....
--In a 5 player game the top 4 will move on to the next round.
--In a 4 player game the top 2 will move on to the next round.

--The final round will consist of 2 players. And will follow the same scoring system of the previous rounds.

Tournment Server:

I have talked to the Admins at 24.101.166.3 and they have allowed me to hold the tournment there. So connect to the tournment server at IP 24.101.166.3 and when you enter type "/join #CFC" at the partyline. Then you will join the CivFanatics channel. Since this is a public server, creating this room will help us stick together. (If there are people there then you will join them....if there is no one there then you will create the channel.)

Rules Update:

The games will be a maximum of 5 players, and I will spectate the tournment games to keep score. (I will start the game, then quit and rejoin. This will allow me to be in the room....but not in the game. I can watch but not play.) This is the best way that me and the admin could work out.

Download like and instructions to connect to the server will follow.

Anyway.....I think the first tournment will be a 3 player-play off.

Well....I'm free all Sunday and Wednesday. Any other day after 7 PM EST would be fine. (Just got moved back to 40 hours a week.)

I'll probably get MSN when I get home. (Even though it goes against ALL my judgement, better and worse.

So we got GK, Sunny and Corny in a tournment to the death. Well....tetris death.

How about we pencil a game for 3 PM on Sunday. Any good for you guys??
