No mercenaries in Rhye's?

Is there a way that I can mod Rhye's and Fall so that I won't have to deal with mercenaries ruining my wars? I have no experience molding, so I have no clue what to do or if it's even possible.

If the fact annoys you that the AI hires mercenaries, you can go to Assets/Consts.py and replace all the numbers in tHire with 100. I guess that's the easiest way to make that happen without going through the work of removing the Mercenary system altogether.

Just be sure to give Carthage another UP so that their current mercenary-related UP won't be useless.

I'd like to do the opposite.

How do I keep mercenaries available after the discovery of Nationalism? (Because mercenaries were and are still used even after national standing armies became commonplace, plus the mercenary mechanic could also be seen as representing the arms import/export industry).

Also, how to I restore the ability to upgrade mercenaries?
