ALF4 1140AD emperor, some help please
I've been shadowing the All Leader Fail-games and are currently running ALF4 and I seem to have come to a situation where I can't really decide what to do. It's 1140AD and I'm a bit behind in tech but nothing important.
To summarize the game so forth, took some bad decisions early in game which got me a bit behind, after taht I've been kinda struggling with economy which has finally started blossom. Got declared on by the ethiopians and just finally managed to get peace through AP. I have an okay army and I'd like to take over zara's land, however I can't decide wether I should do that now or if I should wait until next tier units. Here are a bunch of screen shots, and I'm also going to attach the save (which unfortunately has lock modified assets, I'm using BUFFY-3.19.003 so I dunno if you actually can load this game) Spoiler:

Either way is possible, although if you think you can get rifles/cannons before he gets rifles then I would take that route.

You'll want trebs going up against castles. Otherwise it will take eons to take down the defenses.

Thanks for the feedback, I decided to wait until cannons since like shyuhe said, it takes forever to destroy castles with catapults. Might have been better to beeline trebs but then again, I allready had a lot of catapults. I also ended up getting rifles first, which might have been unneccessary since cannons and maces works kinda well. Or cannons and something for that matter.
Anyways, regarding the continuation, managed to take over zara and saladin with rifles and cannons due to drafting and whipping like crazy. Then got to infantry and took on justinian who was the tech leader (having infantry, airships and artillery) vs my infantry and cannons. After that it was just waiting for flight, transporters and carriers and attack the other continent who was ahead in tech. Managed to kill french and take over the last greece city who had 20 turns left until cultural victory. It all ended up in a domination win at late 19th century. |
