BAT Mapping buggy?
I have played Civilization IV before on my Imac without any problem. Now I am playing on my Macbook Air , with BAT 2.2, and some of the forests just thin out when I'm scrolling on the map.. It's doesn't change the game play but it is slightly annoying on the eyes. Does anyone have the same problem?
Thanks

1. Are you running BAT with Civ4, or with BtS? I don't think it's compatible with basic Civ4.
2. Do you have the same problem if you don't load BAT? That looks a bit like an extreme version of a problem that we saw on nVidia cards when Civ4 was first released. Trees were actually drawn below ground level, so only their tops were showing above the ground. When it happened, you could use the flying camera to drop the camera down below ground level and see the rest of the trees underneath. But I haven't seen it for a long time now, and I don't think I ever saw it with the expansion packs.

The score panel lists Willem Van Oranje so I presume popalopa has at least one of the expansions (I forget which one the Dutch were added in). The trees in BAT are from Blue Marble and I've seen vaguely similar issues with them whenever I inadvertantly run BTS using the Intel integrated chipset on my MBP. I believe MBAs also have Intel graphics so I'd guess either the chipset or the drivers just can't render the trees properly.

Thanks for the answers... I tried with and without BAT and both have the same problems.
I have BTS btw. So from what I've picked, it's inherent to the graphic card in the MAC laptops... >.< |
