How much culture does the Inca Terrace give?
I read it gives +2 culture, but in some of my cities it’s giving me +4 (it shows that way in the buildings area of the city). Anyone know why this is happening?

I believe setting the slider to 100% would send all commerce to culture, not impact the amount received from buildings. I think you might be thinking of Free Speech, but again that would only show in the culture slider area not on the individual buildings in the city screen.
Unless there is something I am missing? |

All of those get evaluated separately from the buildings menu, though. So if you see your building double in culture output, that means it has been around for a millennium.

![]() The building itself is as JujuLautre said, it can only double because 1000 years have passed since its construction.

But that is wrong. Setting the slider to 100% has no impact upon buildings or a direct relationship to a cities total culture at all, it simply makes 100% of the commerce from a city go to culture. So it would not, for example, make a Terrace go from 2 culture to 4.
In fact in high commerce cities you can much more than double your output by setting the slider to 100%, and in low commerce cities the opposite is true. It’s dependent upon the commerce the city has, not a direct multiplier to the amount of culture it generates. Last edited by Beerchugger; May 08, 2012 at 06:46 PM. Reason: fix quote |

There is an exception to the rule: monuments built via Stonehenge wonder.
If the wonder is responsible of the monuments across the empire, then it won't double its culture after 1000 years. |

Inca terrace gives you +1 culture. If it gives you more than that then better, shouldnt be any complaints there.
