are there any mods that you can recommend of the AI?

the ai is really...really..stupid and illogical
can anyone recommend me some mods that would fix it?

also it would be nice if anyone could recommend any must have mods for the game ^_^

My initial reaction is to tell you to try the Unofficial Patch / Vanilla Enhanced Mod, it changes the game in many ways to balance the game which could make it appear harder. It takes a lot of getting used to though, its like playing a different game.

You can find it in-game on the Mods page as VEM - Vanilla Enhanced Mod, I think. Good luck! When I tried it i had to move down a few difficulties to compensate so hopefully it is what you're looking for!

what really annoys me with diplo/ai is that when they want something, they usually expect you to give them the same thing and wont accept it if you ask for even 1 more gold

while when you offer, you normally have to give them ALOT more then the value of what you want

^^ thats illogical
i mean like for example, they want me to open my boarders, sure open your boarders too and pay me some stuff since YOU"RE the one who wants it
but of course thats not going to happen in civ 5 well, since the ai logic is flawed

Yeah, the only thing I don't like with the VEM is that it is still being developed, so there are constantly updates. And sometimes the updates don't work well, because their forum is very suggestion-friendly; if an idea gets enough support they try it in the next patch, most of the time it works but a lot gets reverted or changed every time.

The last game I tried in VEM the AI was bugged and was getting ridiculous amounts of influence with every city state. Had over 6000 influence with each one and was impossible to steal one away from him, ended up losing a culture victory on Prince which is extremely low for me. So yeah, its still a work in progress but we learn from every patch and retune and refine to make it as balanced as possible
