Can culture bomb take over a city? A capital?
Since I couldn't steal Liz's Settler I cb'd her and got right next to her capital.
What happens if I culture bomb again? Can you take a city? A capital? Would be very cool.... |

That's correct, you can't get the city that way....I once "culture bombed" Mumbai to the point it was surrounded.... More an experiment than anything else...I got a few choice resources ....and a manufactory tile....though somehow the city seemed able to carry on. Another time I "cb'd" Moscow...not totally surrounding it....and the city seemed to fade away... I'm not sure how this all works...I suppose it just starved....
One of my tactics with particularly annoying and powerful neighbours is to "cb" them, particularly if there are some choice resources there....but mainly to see just how annoyed I can get them. I have been "cb'd" back on occasion but not very often, but when it happens it is "annoying"... The AI doesn't seem to favour the "culture bomb"... Anyone have any comments on this??I kind of think the "culture bomb" is probably a bit too powerful, giving the human player a bit too much of an advantage. Sometimes if I need "lebensraum", I'll "pulverize" a city state with "culture bombs". Maybe there should be a limit...maybe "culture bombing" should be limited to only within a couple of hexes of a city....???

There is already a limit; you have to wait ten turns before you culture bomb again. And most of the time, there are better things to do with a great person....

^^^I thought he was talking about the hexes so far as limits--not turns.
And tonight I just grabbed 20 aluminum using a culture bomb. I think that's a good use of an artist... |
