Yep dislike that a lot, had a road to a colony cut by the AI plonking a settler on the tile as my settler was comming along the road, I demanded the new city was rebuffed so ended up in an earlier war than I had wanted.

When I have an empire and the AI has one city located in between all my cities I get annoyed by that to, usually try to get them to join my culture by building more universities/other cultural building in those cities to try and capture it but sometimes doesn't work, then I declare war over that one city that annoys me

Is when you have shipped a lot of strong units to conquer an enemy on another continent, and they are fully prepared and already have hordes of Medieval infantry, Crusaders, Knights and Longbowmen just waiting for your arrival.

Load your guys back on the ships sail up the coast and pick a better place to start your invasion from then, ships move much faster than foot units.

Yeah, at least get the wounded back on the ships. You can come back for the dead later.

Crusaders, you let the AI get the Knights Templar first? Given what I have done to the Crusaders to make them really tough, that would be a disaster of the first magnitude for me.

Ship some defensive units and some bombard units to defend them.
Maybe a worker to build a fortress.
Or a settler for a stronghold. Rush a rax for quick healing.
And nukes.
They can't attack you when all they have is rocks.
