windows 7
Hi I just built a new gming pc, and installed windows 7 home premium... I installed Civ 4 and the warlords patch, but when I go to start it it says there are compatbility issues... I tried setting it to run as if it where in xp, but still no go... am I missing a patch, can anyone help?...

Hmm.. Wonder if you're having a 64bit conflict or something? I can't remember if windows 7 home premium is 64 bit in all cases (that's what I am running too).
I know this causes issues for several other games I've tried installing. Just software in general even you have to pay close attention to always get the versions that have 64bit compatibility. Did you try running as an administrator? |

What version of Civ4 do you have? Because if it's only the base version without any addons (you say "warlords patch", but Warlords is an addon), then you're unlucky, because the base game is not really compatible with Win7 (IIRC). |

I just installed it of the dvd, and even installed warlords add on, they both give me the same error...

There are patches for warlords - look in the downloads section on this site for them. Make sure you install everything using run as administrator. There is a stickied thread at the top of this forum that pretty much covers all the issues you may have with installation.
