Is it just me ....
or does "random map" ALWAYS mean archipelago.

Hmmm... interesting...
I used to get quite a few archipelagos to begin with, but more recently they have been rare... my present game seems to be fractal, with 2 fractal continents. Variations of 2 continents are now the most common. |

I nearly always get archipelago on random, I also always seem to end up with the same civs when I do random civs, 4 out of my last 10 have been japan...

It's just you.
Random doesn't mean you'll get an even split of all the map types. You'd need to set up 100 times before the numbers would be lined up most likely... |

I finally came up with a new random map. I have my wife flip a coin (for either pangaea or continents) and start the game w/o telling me what it was.
