What are they trying to do to us? I am in the Medieval Era, I'll be there soon.

There is an appstore version for Macs, which does not require Steam, so this question is legit .

What is the courthouse bug? I'm guessing this might be why my Iroquois save now loads with 30-some less happiness than it had pre-patch. I went BigBen+Commerce+Autocracy for the cheap unit buys (which are nice!), and had been gradually annexing my huge puppet empire for the Police State bonus to keep up with happiness. So if they changed courthouse at all, this would definitely be a game where that would show up in a big way. But it certainly didn't feel like a "welcome improvement" to me, now that my population is rioting...

I started a standard game and turn times are normal for me. I played for about 50 turns though, so never hit the Renaissance.

Trading Posts look much better now.

I hope they fix the city ranged attack animation problem.

In my game on a standard map. I am near Polynesia and Persia, neither are expanding. It is almost the Renaissance and they only have their capitals. What the hell?

interesting patch. I uploaded my current game I am playing (as Korea) and I load it to find that I now have a Norwegian Korean Ski Patrol.

I was at war with Spain to the south, only now all of "Spain" is ruled by Consul Genghis Khan of the Inca.

Per turn lasts around 6 seconds.

EDIT: Improvement from the last time, confirm memory leak?

For the 100th time we've been warned that Old Save games are NOT compatible with the patch... so it's your own fault, don't blame 2k ... just saying.

On my quad care desktop with 12GB, I am noticing the time between turns to be much longer than prepatch. Hope this gets fixed.

Sid Meier himself was surprised to hear about the guy who played the same game of Civ 2 for 10 years!

Yeah Sid too bad you can't play the new one for five minutes!

Is the AI building cities? In my game they are not.

Something doesn't feel right about the pace of gameplay seems to be too far stretched out. Never actually timed the turns in the previous patch.

Turns are substantially slower, I use to play TSL Huge Earth Maps twenty-two Civs, forty something city-states and turns would take about 2-4 seconds. Just started a game on large map 10 civs, 20 city-states and at turn 43, and 44 I timed about 6-8 seconds per turn. I'm on a late 2011 iMac(through BootCamp) Intel Core i5 2.70Ghz, 8GB RAM, atleast double over recommended specs in all categories.

As others pointed out must be some sort of memory leak. It's odd too because during my actual turns everrything seems more fluent, it's just waiting in between turns...

The AI definetly aint that smart, shouldn't be thinking that much

deleted launcher.exe

Has anyone else had this problem? When I launch Civ V, my virus checker (which is norton 360) deletes the laucher.exe program. It thinks the launcher is doing something weird. This has only been happening since the patch was downloaded. I've been able to go into steam and validate the cache to restore the laucher, but if I want to play Civ V, I have to turn off my virus checker! I hope they fix this before too long.

I'm playing on a Standard map, continents, Emperor. We're almost to the Renaissance and so far no slowdown. OTOH, Wu is my only neighbor and for some reason she went on a Wonder spamming binge. She did found other cities, but her army is a joke. I'm busy building cats at the moment and pretty soon I'll have me some nice Wonders.

AMD 1060T six core CPU, ASUS Crosshair IV MB, 8GB RAM, ATI Radeon 5870 graphics.

Still broke

I was wrong. I had Civ V running, closed it down and tried to run it again and my virus checker deleted the launcher again. When I tried to validate the cache, it said 2 files needed to be recovered, but when I tried to launch the game it said a download was paused. When I restarted the download, it gave me an error saying there was a disk I/O error and paused again. I can't get the download to finish and I assume this is blocking the restore of the launcher. Anyone have any ideas how I can get this fixed other than re-installing the game?

Try updating your video drivers to the latest and greatest, if you are having problems.
