Happy PolyCast Episode 149: "Certainly a Statement"

Image Worth taking in. The one-hundred-and-forty-ninth episode of PolyCast, "Certainly a Statement", features regular co-hosts Daniel "DanQ" Quick, "Makahlua", Philip "TheMeInTeam" Bellew and Lisa "qnl" Bang with first-time guest co-host Ryan "OhmWrecker" Lord; it has a runtime of 59m59s; listeners are encouraged to rate the show on iTunes and follow on Twitter.

The summary of topics is as follows:

- 01m46s | Forum Talk
The gone viral account of an ongoing Civilization II game, already more than a decade in the making, top multiplayer civs in CivIV (14m00s; recorded for Episode 140), and the release of a CivV patch with multiplayer and single-player fixes (17m40s); then, profiling the Smokey Skies scenario (21m43s) and with regards to the first Developer Diary from the imminent CivV expansion Gods & Kings (26m16s).
- 31m43s | Senate
Should there be fail gold, or failure compensation at all, for incomplete construction projects in cities (recorded for Episode 138), and the most important strategic resource should one be guaranteed for every civilization to have (36m35s; recorded for Episode 148), in Civilization IV.
- 47m11s | Miscellaneous
In follow-up to a story first covered last episode, the filing of bankruptcy by Big Huge Games owner 38 Studios on both its implications and greater fallout.

- Intro/Outro | Miscellaneous
Purposeful blooping and well-timed background exclamations.

Recording live before a listening audience every other Saturday, PolyCast is a bi-weekly audio production in an ongoing effort to give the Civ community an interactive voice on game strategy; sibling show RevCast focuses on Civilization: Revolution, ModCast on Civ modding, SCivCast on Civ social gaming and TurnCast on Civ multiplay.

I've played games where I would fail on purpose to build a wonder just so I could get a gold cash-out

I've noticed that all the polycasts haven't been available via iTunes since mid May.

Any ideas about what is going on there?

I have just been downloading them manually instead.

Cheers

Yes -- the server that iTunes relies on to update PolyCast's feed is still not functioning properly. (Until about a week ago, it hadn't been functioning at all since mid-May). I am still working with the provider of that server to get the problem rectified.

-- glad you've been accessing and enjoying the episodes otherwise.

Out of curiosity, how long have you been a listener to the show?

Lightbulb PolyCast RSS Feed Update

In follow-up on the status of PolyCast's RSS feed previously discussed above, as well as those of its sibling shows, I'm pleased to write that service to them has been restored at a new location.

For more information including the updated links to each, click here.
