CNN: The rebirth of turn-based strategy games

CNN has last week published the article "The rebirth of turn-based strategy games", talking mainly about Civilization 5 and the coming XCOM title by Firaxis. They also talked to Sid Meier, the connection to board games, and the evolution of the TBS genre.
The article is not long, but worth checking out .

And one quote by Sid Meier from the article, which characterizes probably many CivFanatics on our boards:
Quote:
"I think it is unique to strategy games," [Sid Meier] said. "I know people have said, 'I've looked at Civ and it looked complicated so I didn't play it.' Where a strategy gamer will look at it and say, 'Oooh. It looks complicated. I'm going to play that.'"

Thanks to GameBanshee, where this article was noticed.
